When God created Adam, he made him work. Does that mean we're supposed to be doing something at all times? Is it our nature? Does God want it that way?

If you don't want to eat, you don't need to work. If you would like to eat, go to work. Why should we have to feed you?

If you love your work, you will never really work at all. When we pass from this life to the next we will enter God's rest. Idle hands are the devils playground. With that said, you do not have to continually do something. On the seventh day God rested. Jesus took His the apostles to a secluded place to rest.

As we are created in the image of God, and God certainly worked and rested on one day, we also are not to be idle, but always working within His will. Toiling was not the actual deal, but hard toiling was part of the consequence of the fall.

When we come into the Kingdom and take up the kind of life that we are really created for, we will find that the work we do will be vigorous, but we will completely excel at what jobs we will be given to do for the King! It will be a pleasure!

Before the fall, Adam's job was to tend the garden (easy work). After the fall, the work got much more harder.. by the sweat of their brow. And nowadays, there is either no work at all or too much work having 2 and 3 jobs.. I believe we should be doing something, but something that we love and have a passion for and something that leaves adequate time for family, relaxation, and down time. All of these things should be asked for in prayer because it is not God's best for you to work yourself to death on a job that you hate and keeps you from your family and Church.

We were created to love actively, which requires work. However, the work of love when preformed perfectly does not feel like work.

"Are we created to work?"

Is faith a noun or a verb?

Our bodies were designed to be able to do things. We're designed to create, to draw, sculpt, build, play music, and things like this.

Work, as in holding a job, is not something we're supposed to do. This whole work idea is man made.

One time someone could farm, fish, hunt, gather, or herd, but could make spears or plows. So, he decided to trade. Someone else saw this, and eventually trade started. Later someone else learned how to manipulate and society got so large we needed currency. All in the name of, "This will make life easier for all", which really meant, For ME not you.

So, now we work. Ain't history grand?

I do not believe faith and works can be separated. All condemnation against works in the NT is against human works.

Yes! It is the works of the flesh which are condemned.....not all works. We are in fact created to work in the Spirit.

Since faith without works is dead, I would say that faith is both a noun and a verb.

Ok so we have wavicles? It is truly said that works accompany true faith, but that does not mean they are the same does it?

Can we acknowledge that there is a difference between human works and work that we accomplish in Christ? I think that is what Episkopos is saying - if I got it wrong Epis please let me know.
