To let fear get a grip on you and you dwell on it , yes .
The fight or flight response , no . These responses should be short lived , God gave us these response for a reason .

Jesus feared what He was to suffer and so much so He sweat great droplets of blood.
Therefore God tells us not to fear and empowers us with His Grace and Spirit = same as the LORD received from His FATHER
Bad news is coming, and fear is a natural response to the anticipation of it. It’s the way human persons are designed.
Most of what we fear never happens. Knowing that should help us manage our fear, but that’s not enough.
Bad news is coming, but bad news isn’t the end of the story for those who trust in Yahweh. The story ends in their good.

Where in the bible do we read that Jesus was afraid? I cannot think of a single time where we read that Jesus was afraid. You quote the verse that talks of Him being tempted, but it doesn't say He was afraid.

Oh, He was afraid, all right.
41 And He withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and began to pray, saying, “Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.” ...44 And being in agony, He was praying very fervently; and His sweat became like drops of blood, falling down upon the ground. He was afraid - and He did what had to be done anyway. Remember that. It's okay to be afraid, because without real fear, a man cannot display the virtue of COURAGE.
The humanity of Jesus , He was "tempted in all points like we are " . Have you had a fear grip you so that you were tempted to do things of a drastic nature ? We see that Jesus PRAYED for his fear to pass , an example for us all .

You are correct. Sorry for being so slow to realise that what was about to befall Him must have filled Him with great dread/fear, so much greater than the fears that assault us.

On the Dr Phil show today they talked about, in 1992 a 12-year-old girl that was (beaten, stabbed, and strangled), and burned to death by four other teenage girls, aged 15-17. in Indiana.
