Phillippians 3:10,
10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
Look at the last line a moment, what is; "being made conformable to his death." Lets not beat around the bush, it's your willingness to die. You have come to a place in your mind that you are willing now to recognize or reckon yourself dead with Christ, Romans 6:11,
11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
It must be mentioned that the HolySpirit has brought you along to where your at! but ultimately it's you that must make the decision. You have wanted to be used of God, you have wanted to exercise your gifts and talents, here is your opportunity, reckon yourself dead with Christ.
How is that done? I didn't think you would ever ask! It's ultimately done by you placing everything you know on a shelf. It doesn't matter how great a doctrine you have-it does not matter if you have all the gifts-and can interprete like nobody's business. If all your stuff does not go on a shelf when the HolySpirit leads you, you will stay a stick stuck in the mud. Is that plain enough.
When it's time to move on in the Lord and you are getting the nudges from the HolySpirit you must leave your mess behind. Put it on a shelf! I'll use education for an example; your education is useless at this point. Your brilliance has come to an end and revelation must be your center. Crude example but I think you get the point. Now what happens when the HolySpirit is moving you on in the Lord it is very possible that he will use your education somewhere down the road because it is a very strong part of who you are in expression. But you do not make that choice, he does, so you can rest in him.
He doesn't need my education, it means the world to me, but it does not mean anything to him, you understand that. Only when your ego of who you think you are is placed on hold can he use anything about you. This is not your life, it's his life, you have no life apart from him. We feel like; I spent all this time becoming what I am and what I do. Ok so what, if you are in Christ then a time will come again and again for you to make the change. The HolySpirit will see to it, it's not a bad thing, it just feels bad when the schoolhouse is bearing down on you.
You will feel like you're the only one that has ever gone through this, oh it can get severe. But the day comes to you when by the precious HolySpirit you can make the change and you will say with our beloved Apostle "all things work together for good to those that love God."
We are called according to his purpose, you just need to find out what that is, and you will if you allow the HolySpirit to work in you when he is nudging you to grow up into him "Christ."
