Like a robotic unemotional understanding of a text? The hard facts?

My soul was bulldozed by the church. Still recovering.

I can relate to that! There are some bad churches out there as no doubt you have learned.

I was a member of a church for 2 years before I realized, if your not a member of this church, your a heathen.

They looked down on everyone else, and it took me a while to see this, then I parted ways.

Salvation hangs on the acts of two men. Pretty simple really. Done deal.

Romans 5:18-19 NIV
Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people,
so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people.
19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners,
so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.

Yes, what the First Adam did wrong, the Second Adam made right!

I am so sorry to hear that. When my "soul was bulldozed" by UNsound doctrines found "in
church," I ran into God's Loving Arms, and His Bulldozer Of The Bible, THE Word Of Truth,
and will Never recover.

See what I mean, it's not the Church that presents God as a tyrant, it's you, Steven.

I have never heard anyone present God in this manner but the Atheist, and the UR.
Cognitive dissonance is a psychological phenomenon in which two or more modes of thought contradict each other.

Why not ask Steven which one he is?

Thanks.
Yours is the proper response we should have toward all who are hurting.
The knee-jerk "Christian" reaction is to apply correction rather than mercy.

Yes, there are a whole range of issues caused in this human adventure, both inside and outside the church.
I saw this video recently about the Price of Invulnerability. The aspect of faith came up.

I pray that you find balance.

I have a pastor friend that explained what Christian mysticism is to me.
I was in a tough place and found that practicing the Jesus Prayer was very centering.

The focus is on the Bible, but is a meditative practice.
I even have one for UR. A quote from John the Baptist. See below.
The prayer is unspoken, but follows your breathing pattern.

Behold the Lamb of God; (during inhale)
That takes away the sin of the world. (during exhale)
Repeat.

Choose any short scripture you want to meditate on.
The practice is intended to push all other thoughts out of the way.
Easy to do while driving. But keep your eyes open. - LOL

Here is the traditional Jesus prayer.
"Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God,
have mercy on me, a sinner."

Just to be clear.
It's no crime to LOVE the Bible. (I do)
But we need to keep it in perspective.
If it becomes MORE important to us than the author, we have lost our way.
Easy to "repair" this condition. We need to "fix" our eyes upon Him.

No need for wedges then?

I respect you as a Brother in Christ.

At the same time I meet head on that which is not Biblical. I don't know any other way.

If there is no foundation in Scripture for that which a Brother teaches, then I want to know why my Brother believes it.

Now Steven, it's a fact that this UR thing has no foundation in Scripture, if it did, you could show it to me and we both could believe it.

That is what's called a wedge between two Brothers.

I respect you as a Brother in Christ.
The feeling is mutual. Thanks.

Sure. You are doing the right thing to pull me aside to discuss your concerns.
I appreciate that. You're a good guy.
If there is no foundation in Scripture for that which a Brother teaches, then I want to know why my Brother believes it.
This is where we part company doctrinally.
All attempts to explain where I am coming from seem to fall on deaf ears. (sigh)

What would be an acceptable foundation for you? I'm beside myself to explain.

It seems to me that you get hung up with the end, or the inner workings, not the foundation.
Please clarify what you need to hear from me. Thanks.
That is what's called a wedge between two Brothers.
Oh, my bad. I thought you meant wedgie. - LOL
Humor aside, as long as you respect me as a Brother in Christ, differences of opinion as fine.

Steven, any and everything I believe concerning God's Word, I can show you in chapter and verse.

Whatever I believe has a foundation from Scripture.

You can show me nothing in chapter and verse that even hints at the claims of the UR.

Brother, I love you in the Lord, if I didn't I wouldn't be doing this!

Not intentionally.
Someone will always be offended with anyone who makes a stand.

And I'm certainly not at the controls of the churchDozer.
What are you taking a stand on?

Christian individuals are the church.

IMO, your thread is your effort to manifest your own dozer here.

Yes. We all deal with it in one way or another. Me included.
None of us has this thing figured out. A mystery full of conflict.
That's not answering the question Charlies comment inspired in my post that you're responding to.

She observed of your ongoing pov here"... I have never heard anyone present God in this manner but the Atheist, and the UR."

I stated in reply, why don't we let you answer which one you are.

Simply, are you an atheist or UR?

Which claims of UR do you need me to support. You said the foundation is not supported earlier.
I think this supports the foundation of UR. I can provide an explanation of WHY this is foundational.

1 Corinthians 15:22
For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.
Brother, I love you in the Lord, if I didn't I wouldn't be doing this!
I appreciate it. You are going the extra mile. And even turning the other cheek?
