Friends,

When i was an unbeliever, have been invited to a Christian home for Christmas.

They were different and friendly and happy, and when happened to look at the display in their house, i see a manger, a man and woman with a baby and shepherds with staff.

Another house and another Christmas, i see a man and a woman with a baby, and magis this time.

Another time, a man and a woman with a baby and shepherds and majis this occasion.

Now based on Biblical account which is the 'truth'?

Thank you and shalom in the name of Lord Jesus Christ
The birth of Jesus, in a manger, I would Speculate Mary was assisted, by one or more Females, likely of their traveling companions or a local. (Without Joseph or other men, in the manger during the Birth.)

It was there after the birth, the babe, was swaddled (wrapped in a cloth) and laid down on a bed, likely of straw.

It was thereafter, the three wise men, were drawn / lead to that Manger, to See and Offer Gifts (suitable Gifts For a king)…For the Babe.

The Depiction in a “drawing / painting” may or may not, show any part of what transpired on that evening…
the Babe Only, the Babe With Joseph and Mary, or The Babe, Joseph, Mary, Wise men (“Gift givers”) and random animals, (or Animals that were traveling with the Three Wise men (shepherds of Animals).

Glory to God,
Taken

How did Jesus' birth story get told, except from a person that was there in the first person to tell it.
There's no scripture account to justify your claim, therefore is just your fabrication and speculation heresy.

Truth is, 'as it is written' or 'for it is written' account based on GOD's Testament whether from Old or New.

i've given the materials based on actual scriptural accounts, either you agree or disagree.

First of all, scripture account 'never indicate how many wise men', therefore this is false testimony.

Second, the wise men were led to a 'house' and not manger. therefore again a false testimony.

Third, Jesus was no longer a babe but a grown 'young child', hence likewise a false testimony.

Jesus said, "Ye shall know them by their fruits." (Matthew 7:16)

1 John 4:
6. We are of GOD: he that knoweth GOD heareth us; he that is not of GOD heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

God had Luke and Matthew write it down, just as the Words of Jesus were written down for us, by men. under the inspiration of God. Luke gathered, through investigation as he notes in the beginning of both his books. You cannot see that either God gave it to Luke by revelation or by Luke's investigation. Either way it is in Luke's gospel and not in others. Logic or Spirit concludes there is a source, so have your pick.

I agree. Matthew tells us that Herod ordered the deaths of all boys up to the age of 2 years, according to the time (of the star's first appearance) that he heard from the wise men.

The Shepherds, were sent to the City of David, by Angels.
To a manger…to worship a new born Babe.

The Wise men of the east, following a Star, were Inquiring, and Sent by Herod to Bethlehem, Judea to search for the Child, and located the child and Mary at a house….AND presented to Mary Three Gifts for the Child.

From Jesus’ newborn age in a manger and Shepherds arrival to Worship the Babe…
To Jesus’ approx nearing age 2, residing in a house, and visited by wise men from the east, worshiping the child and presenting the child with Three Gifts…

The journeys… of the Shepherds and the Wise men of the east…were Specific TO…
The One Birth of the Christ Child: JESUS…
To Judea…
And
To in person, Worship “that” Child.

If “the Shepherds and Wise mens” “Journey is more important to you”… your option.

If “Jesus’ ” “shelter accommodations are more important to you”…your option.

I find the “highlight” as depicted “ in what MEN have historically Established” and become Made a Tradition for Celebrating and Remembering Jesus’ Birth, (nativity)… quite beautiful, in a simple visual scene, for all.

Hope you are not disappointed to discover, all men trying to make their way to Jesus, don’t all arrive at the same time.

Glory to God,
Taken

Agreed.

But is there any account he spoke to Mary and her children at any time, even in the Gospel according to him?

No.

Period

Thank you.
Very nice thread.
Actually read through it all.

Although we should not assume anything and accept only what has been revealed to us in
the NT....it is very possible that Mary spoke about her life with Jesus and that some information was gleened from her.
Surely Jesus did not remember everything from His childhood, although we can also assume that His parents told Him the stories of His birth, youth, trip to Egypt, etc.

We depend on scritpture.
But the other member is correct...
the information did come from somewhere.

Luke 1:1-4
1Many people have set out to write accounts about the events that have been fulfilled among us.
2They used the eyewitness reports circulating among us from the early disciples.a
3Having carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I also have decided to write an accurate account for you, most honorable Theophilus,
4so you can be certain of the truth of everything you were taught.

Eyewitness reports from the early disciples.
But the early disciples were not present when Jesus was born...
or before that...
so the info had to come from somewhere.
