Blessed or Happy are all of these whom go through these phases in their Christian walk.

These phases are all by and through the Spiritual aspects of life.
““God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
While people can be materially poor. Starting of as Babes in Christ are poor in spirit, all people start off as poor in spirit. However those who realize their need for him and trust in him. Happy they should be! For the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
While people may mourn over the loss of others. People can also mourn for their love for others to be blessed by God, or even mourn, who may not even know their need for him, or even mourn over their own failures they shall find and be comforted in continuing to trust God. Jesus is our strength in this life and remember he works in and through us.
God blesses those who are humble, for they will inherit the whole earth.
Humility, letting go of ego/pride. God blesses them, by growing in the spiritual aspects of this life through Jesus, it states that they will inherit the whole earth. Does this mean we will be given the earth as a whole? I don’t think so it could be more of being able to go through this life humble in Christ through the whole earth. But maybe someone else has something to say about this. Either way, humility is truly a hard thing to do, without the strength of Christ.
God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied.
For those who hunger and thirst for justice they shall be satisfied. Those whom are trusting in God will be happy, because justice is meted out by God and sometimes that is not because of ourselves; though crimes should be reported.
God blesses those who are merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Happy are those who become merciful, such as having mercy to someone who perhaps fails in their flesh, having love and patience and allowing their failures to not override your flesh into being indignant. However merciful and forgiving those whom grow in the spiritual will grow this way understanding the mercy that God had on them.
God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God.
Happy are those whom have pure hearts spiritually, for I believe they will see God in all matters, this of course all starts from starting off being poor in spirit as you grow and mature in Christ from as being a babe in Christ.
God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God.
Happy are those who work for peace, by the spiritual means and not the flesh, for they will be called the children of God. This all stims from Christ.
God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
Happy are those who are persecuted for doing right. Does this mean being right on debatable topics? I don’t think so, but for doing the right thing, in acting in accordance to the spirit of Christ that lives within you and not giving into the flesh. For the kingdom of Heaven is theirs a promise by Jesus and all these are promises in which you find happiness despite the pressures of peer pressures and pressures of the world itself.
“God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers.
Again another blessing, should this be something that is sought after? No, it’s simply comes from doing the right thing, and not given into the flesh, but simply being and allowing the spirit of Christ in you, and that is all it takes for then someone to come up and persecute you. It may not even be to your face but behind your back and they may say evil things about you because of the way you handled things by and through and in Christ.
Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭3‬-‭12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Rewards await because of these things.

I sometimes become poor in spirit because of giving into my flesh and have to start all over, sometimes it’s just that way, continue to trust in Yahavah in faith and my hope is the understanding the need for him.

Great post, good commentary...love The Beatitudes.

In Bible college, was taught poor in spirit means those who know they have need of God. A simple way of putting it.

All for Gods glory, Debp. To help people in their spiritual walk with Jesus/Yeshua. That is interesting you went to a Bible college, have you changed in any way since going there and after the fact of learning what they may have taught, as a curious question. I never been to Bible school but have changed my thinking over time as I have learned and gleaned off the scripture and off of some people who have helped me in my own spiritual walk.

I always believed the Bible so have continued in that.

I might not be into evangelism as much, but then I am 74 and mainly homebound. I was never pushy about it then or now. Sometimes you sense a person's need at a certain time and it will be more received by them I think.

That makes sense and thank you @Debp. I don’t really remember what evangelizing is. I just like the method you mentioned in the other thread about going verse by verse. That is how I have been taught the scriptures I just never found a church that ever did that around here.

Evangelizing is just sharing Christ with others so that they might believe.

Let me ask you a question, would you say that actually going and reading the Bible would bring a person together with Christ more than randomly being on a beach blvd, with a megaphone screaming believe in Jesus and say this one prayer?

Which one do you think would be more progressive.

I’ve heard people doing this and they be like “we had 10 salvations today” because 10 people concluded with this one prayer.

Just would like to get your thoughts of which method is more effective.

The evangelism I was thinking of is one to one. That includes when someone might have a problem or illness and you then talk of spiritual things with them.

Near where I live, there are sometimes Korean Christians standing on a corner with a big sign about Jesus, calling out and giving out tracts. But I was thinking about one on one ministry.

Many years ago I saw a Hispanic man doing what you mentioned with a bullhorn. I did tell him that he should quote Scripture verses about Jesus instead. The scripture can plant seeds.

Whatever people do, if they are led to do that... it's ok. But personally I think more of one to one ministry.
