What do ya'll think is the reason the Creator required such, I must say, violent and cruel actions upon animals? How can someone who is against viciousness towards animals, like myself, come to terms with some of the things of the Old Testament? No matter that the New Testament is said to have null and voided the necessity of those actions, why was it needed in the first place? Why does it say that the burning of animals and blood was a sweet incense to God?

Thanks for your responses in advance.

We already have an ongoing discussion about that here: http://www.christianityboard.com/topic/11637-why-did-our-father-want-blood-sacrifices/

I don't see a reason to start another thread on it, thanks.
