Every day I see someone who needs help?

I think, bless you.

Can I bless someone? No, I don’t think so.

Do I ask God to bless them?

A quick prayer for them?

If you can help the person, that might be what you should do. If you can't, you can ask God to bless them. I don't know that thinking, "Bless you," would accomplish a lot.

If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? (James 2:15-16)

Sorry; I know people get beat over the head with James a lot, but the scenario described in the OP does call for some reflection on this passage.

I agree, but some are depressed, some are missing limbs, others are blind.

Yes we can ,..if you read in the book of Numbers it says- “ whosoever you bless is bless, and whosoever you curse is cursed..”

So yes…when our kids were small, as they left our house for school we’d always lay a hand on them and bless them in the name of the Lord.

Jesus said - “ the words I speak are Spirit and life “ …He gave us His people , His power … praise God.

Just my humble opinion as I see it.

When we speak good words to and of others we bless them.
When we speak bad words to and of others we curse them.

Blessed means happy
Whatever makes you happy: life, health, provisions, love, peace, companionship, family, everything that is good. We say we are blessed or we have received many blessings and really everything that is good comes from God. But as we love others, we can be a blessing to them - helping them in some way. God works through us to bless others.
This Catholic idea of blessing that Priests do I guess is a prayer or a prouncement of goodwill or maybe some think it is a supernatural mist that engulfs the individual by the wave of his hand? A prayer can be a blessing too - but if you can physically help someone in need at that moment - it is better than a prayer, don't you think? Christ did when told the story about the Good Samaritan. Which one blessed that injured man?

The greatest of ALL blessings we can offer is to LOVE OTHERS in Christ's love.
Not seeking our own but a willingness to lay down our lives for another!
To LISTEN is one of the greatest acts of love.
To actually HEAR a person's ups/ downs their hurts, loneliness, their desire for peace of heart.
It is plain to hear if we just LISTEN.
BLESSINGS.

What do you mean by ' bless them ' ?
If they are a begger stop and talk to them. ask them there name, treat them as a human being and give them something.
Maintain that contact regularly, treating them as a feeling, thinking person will do more than a meaningless 'God bless them' and as you get to know them your prayers for them will be meaningful as you pray for there real needs.
