Politics is just any group who claim to represent a world view of running a country and use the mechanisms of power to obtain control.
Because the group must represent a large group to gain power, it must compromise and appear to be the best alternative for each group to get their support. Modern politics have discovered if the voter thinks the politician knows them and will argue their corner, they will get their vote.

Each politician then tries to make their image fit the best compromise to get the most support, refining what they say as they go along. It often results in liars and frauds saying and doing what appears good, while actually being very different underneath. So big business will sponsor a candidate to get the law changed in their favour, without declaring this is their agenda, but making sure the candidate knows the reality.

Each political system has its method of counting votes and counting who wins and loses. You have to address each stage of the selection of candidates for the major parties, and then how in the election they will win or lose at the final contest.

So you will get believers saying this group are for the Lord and this group against it. In reality all the candidates will want to appear pro-any large group, while actually being something else. Mixing politics and faith never goes well, but having integrity and being honest and speaking the truth, is critical.

I mentioned to my daughter about black lives matter, and the disturbances that have happened and that there are interested parties who will amplify the conflict because they believe chaos helps their cause. She immediately said I was saying it was all just agitators, ignoring the legitimate racism issues that should never be tolerated. I am appalled that such a murder could take place. The police should have 3 strikes of racism and you are out, with full time record body cams on and backed up whenever on duty. And racism expression needs to be overt, not borderline.

Some police cannot be trusted, literally, and need justice to be seen to be delivered.

Now politics should in the right world fairly represent the society and how a good functioning society progresses forward.
Unfortunately we get the politics we put up with, based on how we run our society.

That all depends on why. Security, if a car is not where it is suppose to be, by order, or circumstance, they flatten the tires to prevent it from being used as a weapon.

Most of the infamous black arrests start out as resisting arrest. When a law enforcement officer tells you to halt, put your hands up and interlace your fingers behind your head....these people, think that is optional. So they think if they can out fight the cop they are good to go. Under no circumstances do I want an armed law enforcement officer wrestling with someone they are trying to detain or arrest. These people think if their hands are in the air they can still keep coming at the officer.
There is no part of that, that is correct. Not correct training. I do not care what color or size they are, armed or unarmed. If they keep coming at the officer, hands up or down, I want them to put two rounds into their center mass, that would be their chest. The negotiations can start after that. There is no reason why a law enforcement officer should risk bodily harm in the performance of his or her duty. There is no reason to risk a criminal taking a gun away from a cop. There is no excuse for what we see some of these protesters doing.

All of this is about disrespect for authority. Wanting something that some else has without working for it. The desire to degrade our civilization to chaos and anarchy. They say," destroying property is not violence and it is immoral to say it is." This is a subculture of crazy lunatics. "Rape, pillage and plunder is our nature, and you are prejudice if you do not support it. This is us and you have to embrace what we are or you are prejudice. Black lives matter and only black lives. Get rid of law enforcement and open the gates of the prisons. These people have been there a while and they are using these protests as a cover.

This is 16 percent of the populous that is responsible for 60 percent of violent crime. (That is a misleading figure) What we see here is they are tired of being punished for what they think is normal behavior. They think they have the right to resist arrest. They think that they have the right to murder, steal, and destroy and you are prejudice if you do not agree with them.

Now back to the 16 percent...what portion of this 16 percent are good men and women, families that work and support their communities, go to church and are good Christians. I can only guess, but I am going to guess that the good law abiding black men and women make up 14 percent of the black populous. So that means that 2 percent of the populous makes up to 60 percent of the violent crimes in this country. All of this knee bending to these thugs is over 2 percent. I could be wrong on the percentages, but another statistic is that a white officer is 12 times as likely to shoot a white person than a black person. And another static is that in the big cities black on black murders and shooting make up the majority of the crimes.

We are a nation of laws, not a nation of authorities. As soon as those police chose to vandalize the cars, they crossed the line and became criminals. They don't get to decide whether or not they will obey the law.

Common sense and reality please! I was pointing out the lack of respect for authority and belief that doing what a officers says during an arrest is optional. When they resist arrest then it depends on the training of the officers and common sense. What "these" officers did to Floyd, the knee on the neck is a trained technique, but they did not do it correctly and continued it to long. Intent or sinister....they will see their day in court.

I will stick with that and say they don't most of the time. I have been involved in the political process for 40 years, so I have seen it all upfront. It boils down to one factor. Who has the most influence?

I remember standing for preselection for a State Election seat. There were about a dozen candidates in all. It wasn't until preselection day that we knew who all the candidates were. The local Mayor was one and I knew that I stood no chance against him because he was a very good mayor and knew the area well. You would think that he was a shoe-in.

Not so. The party machine had injected a member from I don't know where to stand for preselection as a reward for whatever she had done elsewhere. The fact that she was there for preselection came with a silent message. Select her because that is what the party machine wants.

So guess who was selected? The best candidate? No. The party machine candidate who we did not know from a bar of soap and had never lived in the electorate.

She did her stint in Parliament and when she decided not to stand again she disappeared into the sunset never to be seen again.

You see marksman why there is little incentive for the average thinking punter to have faith in the democratic process? Power mongers getting their way.....fiddling with the rules and putting forward an honest face. I don't think it's any different anywhere on the globe in spite of the image that is presented
