After biden's purported "inauguration" there was some speculative discussions regarding exactly WHO has possession of the NUCLEAR "FOOTBALL". And as Trump boarded AF-1 bound for Mar-a-lago prior to the purported "swearing-in", it appeared that the Military officer accompanying Trump carried what appeared to be the NUCLEAR "FOOTBALL".

And some presumed that where the Military has some 14 of these "FOOTBALLS", that upon biden's presumed presidency the Trump possession would be terminated and the biden possession effected. However some weren't convinced, and proposed that the Military refused to acknowledge the purported biden administration, and that EITHER Trump may have retained possession, or that possession may have reverted directly to the MILITARY.

Since then the following has become more and more clear:

#1. Apparently the Military REFUSED Pentagon access to the purported biden administration.
#2. Apparently the Military has REFUSED to brief the purported biden administration on on-going Special Operations.
#3. Apparently Trump has been seen with a Military officer carrying what appears to be the NUCLEAR "FOOTBALL".

at one time the football was in real use, today the football is obsolete. the nuk response has to be much faster then that for the response to be effective. its all automated via satellite and yada yada in accordance to appropriate authority's decisions. (kind a like the movie terminator). if so and so looks like a threat, then change the response parameters in the program. with the football by the time the prez is notified of incoming, it will be to late to open the brief case, and decide what to do.

President Trump had the football because he was still president of the United States until Joe Biden was inaugurated.
He does not have the football now. Likely, due to his infirmity, Joe Biden doesn't either because he'd forget he has it if he did have it.
This means the VP is likely the custodian.
