It appears that the only group of people who are discriminated against in this country are Christians. Congress is trying to pass a "Hate" bill making it illegal to disagree with homosexuals. They call our concern for the souls of homosexuals, hate. Yet every man, woman and child is allowed to insult our beliefs and our God. Of course this was prophesied in Matthew 24. But I want to call it what it is; religious persecution and discrimination which is unconstitutional.

Anti-discrimination laws are the pretexts liberal judges use to create same-sex marriage laws. In Canada, anti-discrimination laws have been used for such things as forcing Christians publishers to print homosexual pornography to forcing private Christian schools to accept homosexual students and to let those students bring same-sex partners to school social events. In Canada, even speaking out against homosexual behavior or politics is liable to get punished for promoting "hatred". This is coming to America.Of course, you're perfectly free to promote hatred of Christians. You're perfectly free to discriminate against Christians. Christians, though, are to blame for much of these. Many are so cowardly that they refuse to stand up for their rights. Many are so cowardly that they won't speak out against homosexual behavior. Christians are the majority in places in the world where Christian persecution has been growing most rapidly, like in California, Canada, and Spain. (In Islamic countries, persecution is higher, but it's not growing and Christians are a tiny minority.)

Oh, but on the contrary; rather than go to a voting pole like so many dumb sheep ("dumb" meaning can't speak), we declare Truth and God's disgust toward these abominations every where we go. On the job site, shops, malls...Even at the risk of going to jail or being fired from jobs, we will "shine as lights in this world, holding forth the Word of Life". That's what we're called and commisioned and empowered to do, and will continue to do so. God will see to the rest. Read 2 Thess. 1:7,8 and see what happens to the ungodly.According to psalm 37 it may look like the ungodly and unbelievers are getting away with something, but their day of judgement and destruction is forthcoming!

I'll tell ya something. What I hate the most is lukewarmness where many people and legislators sponsor something like this bill, but then turn around and act like they are for morals, love, harmony and so forth.I'd have far more respect for them if they'd openly say that they are Canaanites, pagans, anti-bible and so forth. Then you'd at least know where they are coming from.In the case of homosexuality, they reinterpret even the bible to fit their notions and then look at the true Christian (or Jew) as if they are the ones in error and should be ashamed.

The Rev Fred "God hates f*gs" Phelps probably did more than any other one man (excluding a few judges) to bring homosexual marriage to the US. Every unbeliever who heard him was convinced that Phelps was a hateful nutjob. If he had just left out the bit about God hating immoral people and the f-word, he would have just been thought a nutjob by every unbeliever (and many believers), so he would have still have driven people away from Christianity and made society even more anti-Christian. Phelps, if he wasn't knowingly working for the other side, he was unknowingly working for the other side. It has been said that the road to Hell is paved with good intentions. I wonder, if someone is so closed to reason and reality, is it really good intentions s/he has?

I agree completely with what you guys have said. It disgusts me to see where this country stands and what direction it is going. However, what disgusts me more is to see so many "socalled" christians going the same way. It completely amazes me that so many christians have such a liberal view on sins such as homosexuality, and that they condone under the name of "love" and "do not judge one another". Nothing gets me worse then seeing christians take such a liberal and ungodly stand on topics such as these. The reason are country is going the way it is is because the christians have dropped the banner, and have turned in their morals and standards. However, as bad as I hate to see the persecution come, it is inevitable. It is prophesied in the Bible, and it is a sign that we are in the last days. It will get much worse before the Lord returns, and I fear that we will lose far more christians over to the ungodly ways of the World.

Whatever I think of that inevitability, it doesn't have to be here and now.

Yes, I share your disgust. People who supposedly champion the name of Christ believe in these abominations. Even worldly men I work with make fun of homosexuality. If some Christless people know homosexuality is wrong, then how much more so those who name the name of Christ? It reminds me of the Corinthian church that did some things that even pagans did not do!I also agree these are the end times. I'm 49 now and I am not sure if I will see the end of days or not, but I'll wager that it would not be long after my lifetime if I leave this earth before then. Nevertheless, Christians will be persecuted as our Lord said of us. But there is a new Kingdom coming! And there will be peace in Jerusalem! Keep looking up!

If you want an outsiders take on things here it is. I have visited the USA and love the people. You are a country of excellence and there is no doubt that you are a blessed nation. The sad thing is that while the church played in the sandpit, the enemy was waging war. Two books that you need to read to find out just how are "Total Truth" by Nancy Pearcey and "Mind Seige" by Tim Lahaye. The disciples of the enemy world view of secular humanism have been totally dedicated to their cause. The church has been totally dedicated to their comfort and the status quo. No contest. Jesus called us to take up our cross and follow him. Most of the time we take up our hymn book and sing a few songs to keep us happy. The way the church is operating today will not allow us to possess the land as we are meant to. Therefore, Satan will do what he wants to. You have probably noticed that the bible is only used by most leaders to make their congregation feel happy to make sure you come back next week and put your 10% in the offering. Until they turn the church into an army barrack it will remain a POW camp. You don't get a victory until you have fought the battle.

True, many Christians are too afraid to stand up for God's Word. But that isn't the reason for persecution of Christians because most people used to stand up against homosexuality. This is happening because God said it would. Jesus said we will be hated by all nations because of him and then the end will come. I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy of those who feel they have constitutional justification for persecuting Christians which they do not.

Marksman:The Commonwealth used to be the height of excellence, even further relatively speaking than the United States, but that was more in the earlier part of last century. We are on the same downward spiral as you are, trust me on that. I have seen a radical change of thinking in the last 15 years or so, and the most of it came since 911. It's as if the people became more entranced and one is afraid to even say anything any more. However, since this is a newer phenomenon and some of us older folks remember the old ways yet, there is still some recollection of how things used to be. Out of curiosity, are some of the people here in the United states you think highly of tend to be more mature (say, middle-aged or older)? In defense of younger kids, I do think some in the younger generation are awesome, but they tend to be more sports kids and less churched. My age-group is probably the dividing line there (49) where we went to church but with the hippies and whatnot felt that spirituality was more subjective and everyone could do their own thing, so we left our kids go so-to-speak. And now liberal universities take over filling in the moral void where church used to teach.

Yes Tim, your comments are very relevant. A George Barna survey showed that most males leave the church by the time they are 20. What is the message? Seems no one is asking. Tim LaHaye makes it very clear in his book that the unis, even the ones that were christian have been taken over by the secular humanists. Alexander Solzenetzin (I can't remember the correct spelling of his surname) but he was the famous Russian who died recently spoke at Havard, which was founded as a christian university, and he said that we desperately needed a return to faith and he was booed. Yes, we older ones accepted the need for boundaries and responsibilites. Today the secular humanist has inculcated the idea that the only thing that matters is rights. The church has taken this on board as too many of them believe and teach that God is there to make us rich.I have just watched a programme about two third world countries and by comparison, if you have a meal on the table every day you are rich. On another Christian forum, I had a clutch of so called christian woman tearing into me because I would not support their demand for abortion on demand. The right to life is the foundatoin for all rights as if you don't have life you don't have any rights.

To some of these liberals, rights only matter if its theirs---- to heck with everyone else, even innocent babies. Primary example of double standards and double talk. Now, if that woman tore into me like that, I would just be a little more blunt with her. She just wants to mess around without the responsibility. And she probably just wants to have the same freedom as the type of men she probably shacks up with. They do their thing, and then they are gone and the poor kid does not know who the father is---- she rather then just abort the baby so she can do the same thing with every Tom, Dick and Harry.

I hadn't thought of it quite like that but is probably true as some facts I unearthed said that some women had at least eight abortions.

Matthew 7:13"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.
