The French Huguenots, a vast number of Christians who sought to worship God according to the dictates of their own conscience, enjoyed a happy existence in their homeland of France as the masters of the timepiece industry. That is, until they came under such swift and severe persecution of the Papal Antichrist power in Rome, who forbid the Bible to be possessed, read, taught, or translated, and denied individuals the right to worship in any way except that which was prescribed by the Papacy - a Christian Sharia Law of sorts. The persecution at one point became so severe that many Huguenots were forced to flee across the Alps to Switzerland in the dead of winter to escape. Taking little more with them but scant food, clothing, and possessions, but equipped with the knowledge of their trade, they settled and began a new life of religious freedom and prosperity in Switzerland. Today, a "Swiss" movement is the signature of a premier timepiece, which would today be known as a "French Movement" if not for the fact that prophecy foretold of the "man of sin" who "made war with the saints and prevailed against them."
