As I understand Romans 11, the Root is Jesus. Israel and Judah and Christianity are all branches attached to that Root.
I agree with the statement at the head of this topic - Christianity is NOT derived from Judaism. Historically, "Judaism" indicates the Pharisee's practice of observing the Law of Moses. Christianity does not observe the Law of Moses, and is not built on that covenant.
I think some of the statements made after the title go too far. Christianity is not unrelated to Israel; the two have great intersection.
I find that the Church is a re-constitution of Israel (not Judah), built on the covenant mediated by Abraham, rather than the one mediated by Moses.
