Yep any other dog would definitely have been put down.
We have one dog that an owner walks in my neighborhood and that thing is dangerous. He walks it on the sidewalk almost daily when I go out for walks and it always goes into attack procedure while he's putting all of his body and muscle into holding it back. Not much room on the sidewalk with a dog like that. People should muzzle dogs like that to act like they care about others.
I still remember the day we were pushing our baby about 1.5 yrs old in a stroller down the street. A huge, it really was Halfbreed looking Pitbull thing ran straight at us at high speed, like exploded from it's backyard and miraculously stopped about 5 feet away, growling, barking and showing its teeth, but it stopped at the edge of the home's property line. We stood still with the stroller to the side behind us and waited, and after a few seconds it backed down and ran back into it's backyard. It all happened very fast, and lasted less then 10 - 20 seconds.
Our older lady neighbor years ago, who is dead now, had 2 medium sized Pitbulls and she never took them for walks, I never saw her do a thing with them. They would be in her yard, escape her yard, go thru gates, dig under fences and run the neighborhood wild. One time one of them stalked me on my side yard, If I had tripped, I knew it would be on me in a moment. Well people complained and some city official came out and the dog(s) got out the front door and were menacing him, and he is yelling at the lady this is what I am talking about, they are dangerous. After she died, the family I think put them down as even they were fearful of the dogs.
