But the depts of that statement from Scriptures will not get through to you if you don't listen to Him!!
The simple fact of not addressing the point is not getting through to you.
Like Paul, you understand more and more that you are doing the very thing you don't want. You become more and more aware of the principle that evil is present in you.
Unlike Paul, you seek no deliverance from wretched double mindedness, but are convinced of the lie to continue that way for life.
Your commitment to sin is unto death.
There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
The "point" of the Scriptures is that we need to know Jesus Christ. Like getting to know anyone, that happens by spending time, and that means time in conversation back and forth, with Him. That has gotten through to me, but what about you?
If you indeed spend time with Him you find out that He reproves you, because He reproves those He loves. Thus He teaches us personally, and gives us personal counselling, and wisdom also. And that comes with love because He is love.
Yet if a person has been reproved by Him, they become aware of the depts of Jesus Christ. They become aware how far they are from being Him, the righteous One. Now you also become aware of His forgiveness of our sin! It is the forgiveness of sin that enables us to be considered by Him as being righteous. If you listen to Him you would be aware of Him counted you as His student, His child, and even His bride, so you are not counted as a criminal who has broken the Law. Yet that does not make you righteous in deed, but it only makes you a child of God. So while He does not count you as unrighteous, but rather as a student learning from Him; you still clearly understand that you have the presence of evil in you, and that you do what you do not want to do. That knowledge leads you to becoming better, but it does not lead you to start thinking you are the righteous One. You are still a sinner desprately in need of our Saviour who is Jesus (God's salvation).
Therefore you can not help but seek Jesus Christ more and more - which is not what you have concluded - which is that a person knowing Jesus Christ who is the Light of this world who showed you, like He did Paul, that there is evil (sin, demons, those dark forces you battle with) present in you.
He is not going to lose anyone who has indeed come to know Him, if for no other reason than they who have truly come to know Him have to seek Him because He is the Light of this world. He gives us eyes to see and ears to hear, making us aware of what is going on around us, which helps us turn from it, but does not release us from sin but causes us to battle with sin.
The person like Saul, that Pharisee we read about in the Bible, searches the Scriptures thinking in them they have eternal life. They think they don't sin, but have over come sin by their good works. The battle to them is not inside them, but is with those demons inside other people, because they have deceived themselves into thinking they are now the righteous one. Their "Religion" (which is their understanding of God, and not His understanding of Himself with He speaks to believers) has let them down. Many call "their religion" Christianity, but true Christianity is not about our "Religion" (Our understanding of God) but Christianity is a relationship with the living Word of God (Jesus Chirsty) We walk with Him and we talk with Him and He tells us we are His own.
Jesus Christ is my Lord - because He tells me things to do every day called "Today". What is amazing is that He still loves me when I do such a poor job of doing what He tells me. I want to do a better job of doing what I hear Him ask of me, but I get side tracked. I wind up saying the wrong words to others, when I know that being perfect means doing and even saying only what God tells me to say. Never-the-less, He tells me to go again and tell people about Him, so that they might start seeking Him.
Yet they don't. They find excuses to not actually seek Him. He told me it would be like that. He specifically went over Ezekiel 3 with me, and personalize it by speaking to me as I read saying, "Karl, I am not sending you to people of difficult speech, but I am sending you to those who should listen to you, but they will not be willing to listen to you because they are not willing to listen to Me..."
Ezek 3:4 -8 Then He said to me, “Son of man, go to the house of Israel and speak with My words to them. “For you are not being sent to a people of unintelligible speech or difficult language,
but to the house of Israel, nor to many peoples of unintelligible speech or difficult language, whose words you cannot understand. But I have sent you to them who should listen to you; yet the house of Israel will not be willing to listen to you, since they are not willing to listen to Me. Surely the whole house of Israel is stubborn and obstinate. “Behold, I have made your face as hard as their faces and your forehead as hard as their foreheads.
The message I have is that Jesus Christ is the Word of God, which means you need to listen to Him! Yet though Christians are supposed to be those grafted into the Jewish root, they often to grow in Him, and that is because they don't listen to Him. If they grow in Him they become aware of the battle that takes place in them, so they do indeed battle with those dark spiritual forces. You will realize that you are not perfect just forgiven, which is something else I have seen on some Christian license plates. Still - there are those Pharisees of today, thinking that they have become perfect. Clearly they are not being reproved by Him. Clearly they don't repeat. Clearly they don't pray the Lord's prayer asking Him to forgive us, whenever they get into that place with God.
Yet with that hard head that God gave me, I keep on saying they need to start listening to Him. Maybe, just maybe it will occur to one of them that they actually need to really seek the Lord Jesus Christ and turn to Him. Maybe someone will listen to me saying listen to Him, even if that someone is me it was worth while saying it again. That is the point!!!
