Yes, it is good. You get what you want.

Jesus came to earth to give you a different choice. A different option.
You can put your trust in Jesus...or not.

What will a saved man do for billions of billions of years? Who knows, maybe you'll be a farmer for part of it. Perhaps you'll be a builder. Perhaps you visit the countless stars and galaxies. Maybe you'll be a musician.

Perhaps time in heaven doesn't move the way it moves here in our 3 Dimensional + time world.

The washed by the blood of Jesus person...the blood shed on the cross is free.

Or you can choose to turn your head and look the other way. That choice is yours. You can live in eternity with or without the creator of the world.

Perhaps when you die you simply go...puff.....and your gone. Completely gone. I mean completely gone in complete nothingness for the billions upon billions of years. Who knows what the lake of fire is like. Thing is, you will know.

Manu doesn't care that he will never see his dead relatives again.
I wonder as they were dying whether he made that clear to them ?

What an awful thing to say.
I didn't get a chance to speak to my sister, her death was sudden and unexpected.

Mancunian, God has a plan for you and all of us or none of us would be here, you will love it, just trust in him, this earth, the life on it and the universe are all from him, As a scientist I know this.

Just believe scripture, forget mans religions and you will do fine but Trust in him and Open your heart. I know this world now is a dreadful place but its terror will come to an end soon enough. Just Open the door and let him in your life.

Cheers

I was raised as a Christian and attended Church of England schools, I was a regular at Sunday school in my youth and enjoyed being a part of that.

My journey into none belief started when I stopped listening to what I was told, and read the Bible from front to back.
The old testament is very unpleasant in parts and it got me thinking about God's morality....
The new testament although less offensive still rang alarm bells, I found it to be contradictory.
I struggled with the concept of sacrifice being the only way that God could forgive.

Talking to (some) Christians makes my none belief stronger.

My thoughts on the video...
Although I have to admit that laws of mathematics are definitely not man made, it doesn't lead me to automatically think that the God of Christianity is responsible for them.

I think that I've already said on this forum that there could well be a creative force that is/was responsible for them, that's fine by me...
The problem's arise when people give the creative force or God or whatever you want to call it a personality. They claim to know God and his/her/it's likes and dislikes, it's plans for us etc.

Outside of the Bible I find no evidence for the Christian God and that's concerning considering he supposedly wants a relationship with me.

I can only say that you haven't seriously thought about the content of the Old Testament, nor have you thought about why God did those things, what the reasons and justifications were.
Perhaps you could try replacing the God of the Old Testament with a nation to think about the issue, and then what God did would seem very consistent with human logic—anything that affects the rule of the kingdom will be strictly suppressed or punished. But this is not a thread that runs through the entire narrative.
You can imagine it as a righteous kingdom that cannot tolerate even a tiny blemish, whether domestically or in surrounding nations. I think everyone has probably had this kind of thought at some point, right?

But if you are referring to the events of the Great Flood, I suggest you read the Book of Enoch and then think again about the situation at that time.

So where does your question begin? It seems you think God is cruel and merciless, that God is not kind. All of your assumptions seem to be built entirely upon what you consider to be innocence.

No it hasn't.
Why can't you answer the question.... It's quite a simple question.

What do you think that your eternal life will entail?
Saying that you'll be glorifying God doesn't answer the question... Saying that you'll be serving God as a part of his government doesn't answer the question.

What will you actually be doing for billions upon billions of years?

How do you know that it will be blissful? You have no experience of living for eternity, it could be torturous for all you know.

If you're just there spiritualally mindlessly worshipping forever, I don't really see the appeal, or the point for that matter.
I hope God gives me a good voice in Heaven so I can finally sing out loud

I ask again. Saved to what and where? For what purpose?
Millions of years of total boredom?
Millions upon millions of years of what exactly?
If you can possibly answer this in your OWN words, that'd be good.
C'mon, let's have a little imagination here.

Putting God into that equation makes all the difference in the world. Even if my imagination is necessarily limited, I don't think God's is. I trust that God can make challenging things for me to do and give me things to learn and have infinite places for me to see and all kinds of people and strange beings to meet.

I think we're putting it in the wrong perspective. We will be in eternity, there will be no time after the thousand year millennium, time will mean nothing.

I think there will be time....just viewed and experienced differently.

You have no idea what you are signed up to.

Yes, I have all the information I need.

Of course I'd need to know what an eternity of life would entail. I don't know why you find it difficult to understand about that.

Because what you're asking is a BS excuse AS IF your faith depends on knowing the specifics. No one functions that way.
  1. How can I say yes to marriage when I don't know what my wife might want me to do on the second Tuesday of the 8th month in our 10th anniversary?!
  2. How can I say yes to a job offer when I don't know what my boss might want me to do on the 3rd Wednesday of the 9th month in my 3rd year on the job?!
  3. How can I run for office when I don't know what circumstances beyond my control might come up, like George W Bush, who ran on a domestic agenda only to be responsible in the aftermath of the 911 attacks?
  4. How can I get out of bed when I don't have the specifics spelled out to my satisfaction of what I might have to deal with in the 43rd minute of the 7th hour after getting up?

Your position is absolutely ridiculous! This is why I address standards of proof in the other thread on Evidence to Be Seen. Honestly, your standard is the most obviously designed to fail I've ever come across in 60 years of hearing entertaining excuses.

We are talking about millions upon millions of years here, you know exactly what I'm getting at.
You can dismiss my concerns all you like, but if I actually believed in an eternal afterlife and was faced with living it, I'd wouldn't be so dismissive of those concerns.

I'm going to hold my tongue at your complaining over the greatest of blessings. Once again, I just observe you don't answer my questions. I asked you 4 specific questions in the previous post. The irony of a guy all bothered by being provided a lack of specifics!

And you never answered how you pretend your faith pivots on this being answered to your satisfaction, repeating Original Sin all over again.

I didn't answer because comparing this life to an infinite amount of life is silly.
Of course I don't know exactly what I'm doing in this life down to the minute, I don't need to.

No awareness of the hate-filled double standard. Amazing.

God gave me too much of a blessing.

It's not a double standard and it's not hate filled.
All I'm asking is a simple question.
You are comparing two completely different lives. Our mortal life with an immortal one.
People have a pretty good idea of how they'll spend their time on this planet, it's all pretty much of a muchness. You're born, you go to school, you grow up and maybe have a family of your own, you work, you retire, you die.
Some people have better experiences than others, some are rich, some are poor, some die young, some live to a ripe old age....
We know all this, that's life as they say.

An eternal life is a step into the unknown, I'm just interested in what Christians are expecting and that's all, and whether they think that an eternal life would be bearable.

No hate at all. Just a simple question.
