I'm not diabetic, but I've noticed I have large crashes after most meals that will knock me out. Then I have no energy.

I feel kind of lost and I don't know where to start. If anyone has any good ideas, I'm listening. This is day one for me and I don't know what I'm doing.

usually after hamilton has his lunch i feel exactly like that .
like one got hit by a school bus , but after a nap or laying down i feels better .
Not for sure why this is .
It's called postprandial somnolence. High fat and high carbs meals will do it.

For breakfast, I stuck to a while wheat wrap, blueberries, with cottage cheese (because it's the only thing I could come up with) and took a few minutes to do something so my muscles would use up the glucose and I did not have the major crash.

I have stuff to do today, so I don't have time for my body to be messing around. Lol

I know a lot of people use carbs in that way. I do better without carbs, or very low carbs. My energy levels are higher with protein and fats.
I am from South Africa and protein sources are not high quality-what would you recommend for me @TLHKAJ?

Johann.

Vitamin B deficiencies, which it is said most people have, cause problems in processing carbohydrates especially vitamin B6. There are some very good integrative medicine doctors on YouTube like, Dr Josh Axe and Dr Eric Berg, that educate on nutrition.

You need to do some studying before you just go and add supplements, as well, of course, as adjusting the diet to a healthier one. There is a lot of rubbish in the supplement market. Many products contain fillers etc that will build up in the body. You need advice over the best companies.

I noticed recently, from symptoms, that I have B6 deficiency despite a very careful diet and various supplements so took a couple of doses and saw improvements straight away which I am very pleased about. It is said that autoimmune conditioned cause one to burn through this vitamin, and also those who have been traumatized (cPTSD for me).

Taking responsibility for one's health, instead of trusting 'a pill for an ill', is so much easier for God's children as we can ask for His guidance, but we still need to do the work in understanding healthy foods.

Eggs have vitamin B6 and more. Why take a pill for it?

I have found that sugar is the enemy for making you sleepy. Pasta and wine are known to make you pass out. Sugar in the wine=bad. Pasta too.
Yes, it was suggested to me once to take molasses to help with anemia. I could not do it. It immediately knocked me out and I had nothing in me but fatigue.

I've already been tested, but I'm already supplementing. When it's really low, I take blood builders and oysters - because I hate liver. I will not change my mind. I hate it.
