Postprandial somnolence is the name for when you get tired after a meal.

Doesn't that happen to everybody? It's always been like that for me. And when my kids were babies that was a joke, feed him real good, full belly make sleep...

I thought it was because my body was diverting energy to digest the food? Now they have a pill for it? Well, a named condition, pill soon to come, lol

I've already been tested, but I'm already supplementing. When it's really low, I take blood builders and oysters - because I hate liver. I will not change my mind. I hate it.
Liver is far too high in vitamin A for those who are prone to A hypervitaminosis, many nutritionists are now saying, and I would not touch it.

If you are taking a multi, I would look at it for you. Often multi's are no good as they do not have enough of the b vits you need.

I'll be honest, day one was not great. I wasn't really knowing what to do with myself.

Day two is good. I woke up with SO MUCH less inflammation and without the grogginess I usually have. There was no foggy headedness/confusion and my energy is better.

That's probably why the antihistamine diet worked so well for me. Almost the same principles.

I'm going to step offline and get some stuff done, cause I'm feeling a lot more motivated.

Talk soon!

I'll tell you this much. If you find something that works for you just do that.

The experts all disagree with each other so trust God, when you find something good do that, and be blessed.

I am from South Africa and protein sources are not high quality-what would you recommend for me @TLHKAJ?

Johann.
Are you able to raise chickens for eggs? What about ruminate animals? I do get as much grass fed meats as possible, but from what I hear carnivore doctors say, with ruminate animals, it's still fine to eat meat that isn't grass fed. Their multiple stomachs is what makes their meat more nutrient dense.

No, not possible to raise chickens, I was thinking more in the line of protein shakes and take my Omega and Multivitamin Men 50+

I find that a lot of difference is due to some not taking into account recent research, and of course the ones that listen to the conventional line based on flawed clinical trials. Then they often concentrate on one area of expertise.

I have been trying to understand the metabolic pathways which is not good for my Lyme brain lol!

If you know where to look, the differences are not that big.

Are you able to get a complete beef protein powder? I use one by a brand called "Equip." It comes in plain, chocolate, and vanilla. Idk if you can get that there. I also use Paleo Pro (brand) Carnivore Complete. It is a "nose to tail" protein powder with tallow, egg white, collagen, and organs ...but tastes amazing (chocolate or vanilla). Of course, it's not 100% carnivore with monk fruit and vanilla or chocolate... but it's so good for you. Idk what's available there for you.

Eating red meats should help your iron levels as well. I have at times used a grass fee ground beef with organ meats ground into it. I know it sounds gross, but I would do one pound of that, and 2 pounds of regular grass fed ground beef (75 or 80% lean, not the leaner choices) ...and add a couple pasture raised eggs, a little smoked paprika, garlic powder, Redmond's salt ....mix, and make burger patties from that. It is not detectable that there are organ meats in it. I have never been good with liver ....at all! But I can do this mixture.

Goodness, that's a bummer..But you can get the bone broth collagen powder? That's a good option, at least.
I have bookmarked this dear sister-and will check this out, IF this is available in South Africa and hopefully not too pricey.

Thank you so much for the assistance!

Johann.

I'll have to see. I'm kinda far out but I can probably figure something out. I can't do eggs, unfortunately, so I have to make flax eggs.

So here's something you might not know. A lot of the food preservatives that are banned in the UK, are actually legal in the USA.

A lot of our food isn't traditional health food and even some people with an allergy to wheat are actually able to handle a certain brand of wheat flour made in Ireland.

Not to mention, even our cows are stuffed with soy to fatten them up and lower costs, which in turn, is affecting male hormones because of estrogen.

So, as natural you can eat is best here. It's almost impossible to be perfect, but there's no harm in trying to stick to food that God gave us and not Kelloggs.

I'm sorry to hear about Lyme. I am not very educated on it, to be honest. I really wonder if the mitochondria lady would be a good resource for you.
