The Federalist
asks: Will Joe Biden be the first presidential nominee in 80 years to refuse to debate?

Biden used the Wuhan coronavirus as an excuse not to debate Sanders [again], which is ridiculous, considering that they don't have to have a live audience. Of course, liberals are advising Joe not to debate Trump, knowing full well that he can't win.

The ultra-liberal New York Times and Washington Post are calling for debates to be scrapped. No surprise there!

According to The Federalist:
A Zogby poll shows 55 percent of voters believe Biden is in the early stages of dementia. The former vice president’s constant slip-ups have led the campaign to limit their candidate’s media appearances by running a 20th-century campaign. Warren G. Harding’s Ohio front porch has become Biden’s Delaware basement.

The tight control over Biden’s public appearances has led the campaign to now consider refusing to participate in the fall debates. The debates have become a fundamental presidential tradition that allow voters to compare their two choices for commander-in-chief side by side. No president has avoided them since Franklin D. Roosevelt refused to debate Wendell Willkie in 1940.

They know that their favorite pet will look totally stupid in a debate. By the same token, should Trump even dignify this bogus candidate with a debate? It would be a total farce. All they need are two placards:

TRUMP'S PLACARD WOULD SAY "FREEDOM"

BIDEN'S PLACARD WOULD SAY "SLAVERY"

Well, there goes that belief...

Although I can understand why it might happen. Trump could debate an empty chair. And a slightly-above-average chair would mop the floor with Trump, whose cognitive decline is becoming more and more obvious.

Voters are aware of this. Even Rasmussen, which skews heavily to the right (they predicted a landslide victory for Romney), reports that a majority (54%) of voters think Biden is able effectively debate Trump.

Trump Goes Full Cognitive Decline During Bumbling Campaign Speech In Battleground Texas
Donald Trump jetted out to Texas on Wednesday to deliver remarks on his administration’s energy policy as polls show the state is a legitimate toss-up with three months until Election Day.

What was supposed to be a speech bragging about his commitment to dirty fossil fuels quickly turned into another episode of Trump’s apparent cognitive decline.

The sweating president appeared to glitch multiple times throughout his speech, mispronouncing cities and years and at one point going off on a tangent about cows.

Here’s Trump fumbling right past the word Minneapolis:
...
When Trump tried to attack efforts to bring down carbon emissions by 2030, he mistakenly referred to the year as 230.
...
During a shout-out to Texas Sens. Ted Cruz and John Cornyn on military spending, Trump completely short-circuited but played it off as though it was intentional.
...
And, of course, Trump stumbled into a bizarre tangent about disappearing cows.

“What have they done with cows?” the president asked. “Remember, there were gonna be no more cows and no more cattle?”

From Politico:

Biden: ‘I think we’ve had enough debates’

Bernie Sanders has said he will debate the former vice president next month if the
DNC moves forward with the event.

Former Vice President Joe Biden on Wednesday suggested there should be no more televised debates for the remainder of the 2020 Democratic primary, signaling an unwillingness to spar on stage again with Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders next month.

Ater a virtual news briefing on the coronavirus pandemic conducted from his home in Delaware, Biden was asked about the Sanders campaign’s statement to The New York Times on Tuesday that the senator would appear in an April debate if the Democratic National Committee proceeded with organizing the event.

As you can see, even though Biden and Sanders did debate, according to Politico, Biden voiced an "unwillingness to spar on stage again with Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders...."

The reason Biden has voiced opposition to debating anyone is that this would accentuate his cognitive decline, which has been very obvious this year. A president has to think quick on his feet, and a debate would show how well both candidates do this.

There are so many verses in the Bible that warn us not to speak evil of others...or to slander or gossip. You are not doing God any favors with your posts. I can only pray for you that God will show you the error of your heart.

People are merely observing what's happening to Trump. It's not just a few things, but numerous problems that are getting worse over time. In a representative democracy, it's our responsibility to observe our leaders and to criticize them when they are failing.

This is what God expects us to do; we are told to be subject to those set above us. And in America, that would be the Constitution, not some official.

So your original story:

Was false. So your story shifted to "Biden was willing to debate Bernie during the coronavirus, but not as many times as I thought he should."

As you now realize, they did debate during the coronavirus pandemic. Even if he occasionally stutters, he makes a lot more sense then Trump's continual stumbling over pronouncing difficult works like "Minneapolis", and "Yosemite."

But what does criticism mean coming from you? You really have nothing good to say about this country. Nothing good to say about Christianity. You argue that this country's foundation, was not built on Christian morals and principles. Whatever you are, you cannot answer these questions....
What is your position on abortion?
Your position on homosexuality?
Your position on drug use?
Your position on the leftist form of communism?
Your position on law and order?
Your position on law enforcement?
Your position on the rioters in the democratic run cities?
Your position on shutting down churches in democratic run states?
Your position on school prayer?
Your position on our schools teaching our children to be communists and atheists?

Nope, not false. I added a word to the OP to clarify.

There's a BIG difference between "observing" and judging and hating on people!

This is what Paul had to say about submitting to those in authority.

Romans 13:1-2--Everyone must submit to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those that exist are instituted by God. So then, the one who resists the authority is opposing God’s command, and those who oppose it will bring judgment on themselves.

You're right, H2S! Thanks for reminding us that we are not to speak evil of others in the form of slander or gossip! Sometimes, I go over the line and need to be more sensitive to the conviction of the Holy Spirit.

Blessings!

Yes. A lot of Americans detest Trump, but they don't hate him like the white nationalists hated Obama. Good point.

Paul's observation was correct. In an empire, the authority is a man. In a representative democracy, it's the Constitution. And thereby, we are obligated to criticize our elected servants when we see them in error. It's not about hate, it's about being a good citizen and calling out our elected officials when they do wrong.

Trump isn't the country. As you realize, the country is opposed to Trump. You make the same error that other right-wing extremists do, when you assume Trump is America.

You argue that this country's foundation, was not built on Christian morals and principles.

That's easy to check. Go to the founding laws of our nation and see...
Constitution of the United States - We the People

What does it say about Christianity?

Yep. This is why Jefferson pointed out that the same freedoms were available to people of every opinion on religion.

Whatever you are, you cannot answer these questions....

As you know, I've repeatedly linked you to the post in which I gave you the answers. Everyone here knows why you won't answer them for yourself, and why you lied about my answers.

Yep. you lied. They did indeed debate during the pandemic, as I documented here. You just made up that story.

As you know, Biden won those debates rather resoundingly. Bernie's a smart guy, and a pretty good debator, but Biden's centrist ideas fit better with democrats than Bernie's socialism. And so, after the debates, Biden quickly won a series of primaries that gave him the nomination.
