Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters

Now this seems to indicate that our talents Are to be used for the Glory of The Most High..

Some people are good at singing, others art, others sports, so on and so forth. Rapping is difficult. It is a musical talent that many people use for evil, glorifying sex without marriage, money, pride, murder, storing treasures on earth, and everything that God hates.

BUT, We are to use every talent, whatever Gift we have, whatever we are good at, let us use it for God Almighty. Some rappers do not know any other talents, so they continue on with their gift to give thanks and Glory to God. I remember as a kid there was a rapper I listened to, and he converted to Christ around the same time I did. He now uses his Rhyming gift to praise God. He is a different man I tell you.

It says nowhere in Scriptures that we can only use certain instruments and such to praise...Let me show you some Christian rap songs. Its about the HEART, not the clothing or their accent.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gu8zPuHc2bc Lecrae - Lucky ones (Giving thanks and honor to God)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpGn8vllIKY Lecrae - Higher (Again, Giving Praise to God)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vxN4izf46A Lecrae - Gravity (explaining the desire for heaven, but he is stuck on earth, Further adding to the metaphor of Gravity bringing him down)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrqzkNKaDD4 Bizzle - Stand Up (addressing the ghettos, and how they can improve and not hate each other)

Listen to the lyrics before being all judgemental

Many of the Christian rap songs out there have more good theology in them than many contemporary worship songs and even some hymns, so it can surely be redeemed. I'm not really certain how one can pick a musical genre out of the Bible, to be honest, so I am less concerned with how the message is delivered. In fact, guys like Lecrae reach people who might not be reached otherwise.

I think the guys that do it well rap with quality. I think, just like Christian rock and alternative music, we have to be careful not to accept lesser art only because it says Jesus in it a few times. Even a bad song can glorify the Savior, don't get me wrong, but I think the second half of the meaning of that verse you shared Inmate is that when we do something for God, we shouldn't put out crap.

Rap is the most vulgar genre of music. It's hard for me to accept that someone who feeds their interest in Rap with Christian Rap isn't also going to feed their interest for the genre with the common vulgar variety. Even if one young Christian manages, the next nine won't.

That's your taste then. Not everyone likes to listen to slow songs that are sad you know. some people like upbeat music epic music. It doesn't mean we want to murder or rob someone. You got the wrong idea.

Its not vulgar If the rapper is saying good things
