All demons are spirits. If evil spirits are continually tormenting you, then there is something wrong in your walk with God. Something in your life needs shoring up, or you need to renounce something and to be set free from it.. It doesn't matter if you are possessed or not (the use of the word, 'possessed' is neither here nor there)---demons are sent to torment and deceive you. One the the things they do best is to deceive you about who and what they are.

You need to be baptized with the fullness of the Holy Spirit. Communion doesn't stave away the demonic. Christians need to rise up and use their authority in Jesus Christ to deal with these things. We are to cast them out and away.

We need to be living our lives in such an upright way in Christ that every day when we wake up and place our feet on the floor, the devil says, "Uh-oh---he's (she's) awake!"

Yes, that does happen to people who are strong believers, baptized in the Holy Spirit, walking in their anointing, because the enemy wants to break them and to keep them from doing the will of God. However, Christians like that know that they can use the power of Jesus Christ within them to send such troublemakers away. I wouldn't call those attacks torment, but I do consider the enemy's tactics like a bothersome gnat!

Since I realised what I had was sleep paralysis and that there is a scientific and medical side to it as well I don't get these attacks nearly as often or as bad. What I saw migth have been hilucinations but the question is what is giving me these hilucianations and is what I'm seeing accurate. Now I udnerstand the condition I don't fear it anywher near as much.

    Hi Wayne!
    your OP
This will never happen because you cannot confront a demon in this way without it indwelling a body.
Angelic [celestial] beings are not demons...they are higher up in the Army of Darkness...
If you are unfortunate enough to encounter one of these...I hope you know your word and authority you have in Christ...

    Blessings!!!

This may be long and rambling as usual.

Firstly, It is impossible for a person to have the Holy Spirit and a Demon in them at the same time. The Lord promises us to protect us. There's no possible way the Holy Spirit will share the same body with a Demon. As reference I will present the ENTIRE BIBLE as proof.

Now, as far as encounters. Ever watch those ghost hunter shows? Sometimes they see things. I myself have seen "shadow" people as they're often described. I've seen many other examples of supposed ghosts. I've also heard things along with my wife who heard them too. These are not dead people. These are not angels. These are demons. Angels will do nothing that will cause confusion and cause people to go searching after things that are not of God. Demons can and do manifest in many ways.

As far as I know, I've never met a possesed person.

If someone is tormented by evil spirits, (not possesed) but seemingly bombarded by messengers of Satan, doesn't mean something is wrong with their walk. Demons are interested in taking you away from God.

Think about this. Ask anyone who believes in God, about when they first started believing. Didn't it seem like every weirdo came out of the wood works to talk and to persuade? Didn't it seem like people suddenly came up with challenging conversations out of the seemingly blue, although, that never happened on a regular basis before?

Isn't it strange how most Christians are bombarded with thought's of, "God doesn't love you! You're not saved! You're going to hell!" ?

It's pretty simple,,,,, We're to be on guard because Satan is a roaring lion seeking who he may devour. But, if we resist the devil he will flee from us. We are sanctified by the Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ. We are protected and can't be possesed. Demons are very tricky, make no mistake they're not unintelligent by any means.

I know people who have been Christians for years and have had to undergo deliverance. Demons may not invade a Christian's spirit, but they certainly do invade the Christian's soul if they are not wise and living according to God's will, delving into sin, opening the door to demonic strongholds. Many Christians come to Christ with demons already, and eventually as they grow in Christ, come to the point where they find they need deliverance.

I have led two people to Christ in the recent past who were demonized, and they received their deliverance some time after their salvation.

All of us are influenced by the spirit world (God and his angels, and Satan and his angels/demons) and it happens far more frequently in our lives than most of us realize. Since Satan tried his hardest to seduce and corrupt Jesus Christ, not even the most saintly among us can avoid confrontations with evil spiritual beings. In fact, the more godly the person, the more we might expect that person to be a target.

So, regardless of whether a demon can live inside us, Bible believers stand united in agreeing that Christians can be troubled by demons. In fact, suffering a degree of demonic attack is both normal and unavoidable in this life.

However, this doesn't mean that we are helpless victims. Being tempted, for example, does not mean we must yield to it. Most of us would agree that it is inconceivable that the strongest demon could force the weakest blood-bought child of God into sin. A demon might possibly pile on the temptation and pressure until it seems unbearable, but no Christian prepared to pay the price---willing to take up his cross and follow his crucified Lord---will find resistance impossible. Others, who are less willing, do succumb. We see many people in the ministry who confess addictions to pornography, prescription drugs, and who have certain fears and phobias, etc. These are besetting sins that come from the enemy and often indicate a demonic presence in that life---we cal them strongholds, which require confession, repentance, and renunciation for deliverance.

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. [sup]9[/sup] Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

So yes, Whitenuckle what the domons are doing is undermining our faith and doing all they can to turn believers away. A demon doesn't have to posess you to hurt you.

As far as there being something wrong with my walk with God. All I can say aobut that is that I;m a sinenr like any other and I'm not always strong in the face of temptation and I all to often get wrapped up in myself and forget about the neds of others, but surely that could be said aobut nearly everyone.

Also, I've been mentioning sleep paralysis! Is anyone familiar with this disorder? or does anyone else here suffer from it?

Yes, Templar, I have had a period in my life where I have experienced what people call sleep paralysis, but in my case it was demonic. I have dealt with it just like I deal with any demon, and it has been over 25 years since I had an attack like that.

    Romans 8:6
For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

    Hi Templer!
Demons cannot hurt you at all...they can only pretend to have power over you but as long as you are a believer, you have the authority in Jesus to command them to flee...
There is a lot of misconception out there about demons, particularly what I have read so far in this thread. I hope that it will settle down a little and that people reading this thread are not going to be more confused then they already are...

    Be Blessed!!!

I am not basing what I speak here on opinion, but from many years of experience, and not to mention the knowledge of Jesus Christ and His word.

You obviously need to have the last word on everything LS. Go ahead....I am always amazed at what comes out of the woodwork when a subject like this arise. God knows every heart and every struggle. Demons do not have to reside in a believer if they confess their sins and repent. God then forgives us. Based on the word of God, we then take up the sword of the Spirit and command that particular demon to flee in Jesus name. After that, we need to close every doorway in our lives that allow that demon to have any further opportunity. It is that simple. No drama no special gifts...just do it and be free in Jesus name!!!

This topic is locked because it no longer serves any further purpose in relation to the original post and it has become no more than a bragging session.

    Shalom!!!
