Hi.. I am a newbie here but let me share my view on this...Biblical solution for this, at least the way I believe, is found in the famous and simple verse of John 3:16. For God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten Son. That WHOSOEVER believes on Him shall not perrish but have ever lasting life...(emphasis mine)Now, here is the problem. If God knows the past, present and future, then only those who are predestined by Him can be saved??For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.(Rom 8:29)hmm.. huh? Well, then these two verses in contradiction? I don't believe so. If John 3:16 read "God so loved the world... that some who believe" or "those who are predestined to believe on Him" then the logic stands. But it reads "WHOSOEVER believes on Him shall" be saved. This can be easily understood this way. God knows the future, including who will be saved. Problem is we don't. We human beings don't have that capacity. The only way to find out if I am predestinated or not, is to be WHOEVER that Bible describes. If I became one of those whoever believes in Jesus, and as Bible says I am saved, then I found myself to be predestined by Him. I heard someone used this illustration before. Predestination is like a gate. Before you are saved, inscription of the gate reads "whosoever enters this gate shall be saved". When you go through it and turn around to face the gate you have just gone through, you would read another inscription saying "you are predestined". If so, Romans 8:29 is more understandable where it says "...also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son". His predestination is valid, but it doesn't mean we don't have a choice. Our choice is to whether we would be the "whoever" that Bible refers to. If we do, then we find out we are predestined to be like Jesus as Bible promises "when we see Him face to face, we shall be like Him".
