Did God sacrific his Son?

Hi everyone,My first post on this forum - thought I may as well make it a tough question

I'm a Christian. I believe that God sent his Son to Earth some 2000 years ago and he became human. His name was Jesus.What I'd like to know / discuss is this thing that occurred to me:When Jesus died on the cross was it actually a sacrifice? I'm confused because Jesus was God while fully a man so he would have known that he'd be able to cheat death and rise again as a man and eventually return to Heaven again.So when Jesus came to Earth, did he know his future - that he'd be back in Heaven after about 33/35 years (a blink of an eye for God).PS God can read what is on our hearts. Does that mean he reads bulletin boards too. Am I in trouble?

Right, it was indeed a sacrifice.Christ's death on the cross was in place of all of the sacrifices (ordinances) spoken of in the Old Testament law.Hebrews 10:10-12

Of course he knew remember what he said on the cross My God, my God, why have you forsaken me he was teaching you from the cross he is directing you to Psalm 22 this psalm was written hundreds of years before Christ and it was the prochecy of what would happen to Christ right downto the very casting of lots for his cloths

I'm really tired, so Even though I won't put scripture now, I will tomorrow. I will say this, Jesus was the Father God, and he was the Son of God to the World. So in essence, God sacrificed himself, not his Son. It says God sacrificed his Son because Yeshua HaMashiach was also Human, and that made him son of God. Just like Adam was a Son of God. Jesus Christ is the First and Last Adam. The First Adam was the First Son of God and he never sinned until he fell. The Last Adam is the Son of God, and he never Sinned, which is a type of Human Nature Yeshua HaMashiach Was. God never had a Son, he was manifested in three and perfected in Three. Father in Creation, Yeshua HaMashiach Son in Redemption, and the Holy Ghost in regeneration. More to add........

Nothing, just giving you a reasurrance of why God has sons. To say God doesn't have a son, is like saying we don't exists.But however, it is interesting to note that He has begotten Himself when He said...Psalm 2:7 - I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. (Also Acts 13:33, Hebrews 1:5, Hebrews 5:5)JagLovest ye in Christ Yahshua, Lord and Saviour of the world.

So to whom did Jesus pray? When he was dying on the cross and He said, "Forgive them Father..." do you believe he (Jesus) was speaking to himself?

Well, to be honest, I'm not sure about the v. in Isaiah - I'll have to get back to you on that one. But I am certain that Modalsim was reject by the Early Church as heresy. How would you explain this verse from Matthew: 36"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

In the begining was the Word, and the Word was with God - and the Word was God. What do you take the "with" to mean? I can't be "with" myself. Let US make man in our image. Who is the "us" ??? What I believe: God the Father - God the Son - God the Holy Spirit. One God.

When God is in the human form, He doesn't know...but He knows that part of Himself is in Heaven that knows it. It's clear when the 'Son' goes back to Heaven, He knows.God is not subject to Earth only, nor is He subject to Heaven only. So you DO believe that while God the Son (Jesus) was on Earth - God the Father was in heaven? (by the way, I've started a new thread so as to not hyjack this one..)

It's not modalism which me and jag believe in. Most of you want to label a biblical doctrine a name, whether it be trinity, oneness, modalism, a denomination, me and Jag refuse to partake in any "man made" dogma or idea. With that said, we Believe in the Godhead, not trinity, or modes of God or the Oneness Doctrine. The Oneness Doctrine hits it on the nail, but since it's a name from man we prefer GodHead doctrine. We believe God is at all MODES ALL AT THE SAME TIME, he is not the in the Holy Ghost mode one time, then the son, then the Father. We believe he is onminpresent, the word Mode is not even in the bible to describe his presence again that is man made! Is this Truly a Salvation Issue, Only the Lord knows. I do not deny that the Father came down, created a body, Dwelled in It, and Died for Us calling himself Son of God. I do deny that the Godhead consists of three DISTINCT(DIFFERENT) personalities!

That's fine. But that's also a "man-made" belief. Unless you are God Himself posting and can clarify for us, your Godhead definition is "man-made."
