More than a few think Pentecost was the start of the church. This will examine this claim.

[Acts 2:42 KJV] "And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers." ********** The Gentiles that believed continued in the teachings of Peter and the apostles. Peter was preaching the millennial kingdom on earth. This couldn't be the start of the body of Christ, because the body will inherit heaven, not the earth.

[Acts 2:44 KJV] "And all that believed were together, and had all things common;"
[Acts 2:45 KJV] "And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all [men], as every man had need." ********** The Gentile believers followed the commandment to sell their possessions in accordance to Christ's command to enter the millennial kingdom ********* [Luke 12:33 KJV] "Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth." ********* This wasn't a command to the body of Christ. On the contrary, the body was commanded to lay up for their children ************* [2 Corinthians 12:14 KJV] "Behold, the third time I am ready to come to you; and I will not be burdensome to you: for I seek not yours, but you: for the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children." ************* the body of Christ didn't sell all their possessions and was not a practice of the body.

[Acts 2:46 KJV] "And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,"
[Acts 2:47 KJV] "Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved." *********** The Gentile believers continued daily in the temple. Peter and the disciples worshipped daily in the temple ************ [Luke 24:53 KJV] "And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen." ********* the body of Christ met in their houses not in the temple.

The church the Lord added to was not the new church, the body of Christ, it was the Jerusalem church whose leaders were Peter and the apostles.

Please continue Doug, you do a good job of correctly differentiating the teachings of Paul from Peter.
I too also accept now that the Body of Christ as taught by Paul did not start at Pentecost.

I would like to but the administrators are reviewing my posts for heresy. See what happens they are in no hurry and are inconsiderate by taking their time. They dont agree that Peter and Paul preached different gospels
You err, because you take passages out of their context and make them stand apart from what they were meant by the original authors.

36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

These were jews who became part of the church and as Paul also preached, became part of the body of Christ. They worshipped in the temple and from house to house. They were jews, so it was natural for a Jerusalem Jew to meed in the temple to worship their newfound Messiah.

If you read Acts 2 close;ly, you would see the same gospel as Paul preached but to aq Jewish audience.

Peter spoke of Jesus' death, resurrection and that the Father made Him Messiah! Jews would have a good knowledge of what all this meant, while gentiles would not.
