Why are so many here afraid to stand up and vote what they believe?

That's not the point.

I am not doing this to use it against anyone or condemn anyone. I will count it as a Yes vote but that does not mean I am going to plaster it all over the board or even repeat it here in this thread.

Point is, you are going to use the information elsewhere for your heretic purposes.

That's why I did not vote.

By the way, you have misquoted all of the verses you quoted from John. None of them say "I am he" in any of the most important Greek manuscripts. You failed to hang on his every word in those passages, both John 8 and John 13, and removed those statements from their contexts which allowed you to follow your favorite translators into the ditch, where they themselves already are, by removing those texts from their Logos, which is only known by context, so that you and they, having stripped those verses from their Logos, could then insert your own logos dogmas into the Testimony of the Master by adding to his words.

See, there you have it.

I am not into conspiracy theories.

You are robbing Jesus from His glory.

Another false accusation.

And the much more likely truth about your character attacks herein is that you prefer not cast your vote openly in this poll because you know that your position on the topic-question is not Trinitarian. And if that is true then it means you love the praises of men most of all, and do not wish to lose your favored status in your club, regardless of the truth either way.

Why else would anyone be so angry about a simple poll?

But you think you know better.

Why ?

At least some of your pasted texts place he in italics, which informs the reader that it is a word not found in the Greek text from which they are reading and translating, (nor is it in any of the most important Greek codices and manuscripts, as I already said), but those who do not place he in italics are being disingenuous to the point of outright dishonesty because they also inserted it into the text, just as well as the other translators, and yet they have hidden that fact from the reader. So the answer is, yes, I do know better, having been taught of Elohim rather than highly esteemed scholars who are not much better off than the Pharisees and their Scribes who also perverted the scripture.

It is obvious that "I am he" is an acceptable translation and possibly the better translation. Jesus is not quoting or alluding to Exodus 3:14..

Kind regards

Greetings again dak,

The Meshiah does not point the hearer, (or reader), to Exodus 3:14.

He very clearly points the hearers in the passage back to what he said to them at the commencement of their conversation, which commencement is John 8:12.

24 I said therefore unto you, that you shall die in your sins: for if you believe not that I am ___ _____ __ ___ _____, you shall die in your sins.
25 Then they said to him, You are who? And Ι̅Η said to them, That which I also said unto you at the commencement [John 8:12].

They said to him "You are who?" because they realized that he did not complete the I am statement, just the same as any modern scholar or translator sees when he or she reads this text. And yet the modern scholars take it upon themselves to complete the statement for the reader, having ignored the response which the Meshiah gave them in the very same verse.

The following is the logical end result of the Logos-understanding contained in what he said to them:

I said therefore unto you, that you shall die in your sins: for if you do not believe that I am [the light of the world, (John 8:12)] you shall die in your sins.

The difference between us is that you allow translators to insert erroneous misdirections into the text for you while I heed what the Master actually says in the text because I actually understand the text. Did you not notice all the crazy insertions into the text in the quotes which were pasted in reply #85 above? Please take the time to read them: some of them are shocking, and it is because that is what natural minded men do with the scripture whenever they see what looks like an incomplete statement, they immediately seize upon it as an opportunity for them to insert their dogma into the words of the Meshiah, (or Paul, or any other Apostolic writer).

I have explained it twice now: believe what you will.

Greetings again dak,
I have explained it twice now: believe what you will.
Interesting explanation, but the following uses the same expression, the first by Jesus and the second by the cured blind man:

John 4:25–26 (KJV): 25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. 26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.

John 9:8–9 (KJV): 8 The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged? 9 Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he.

Do you understand why he is in italics? (I already explained it). As for the first quote I do not see why it is even in italics because the phrase ego eimi has the article following.

John 4:26
26 λεγει αυτη ο ιησους εγω ειμι ο λαλων σοι
εγω ειμι ο λαλων σοι ~ I am he [the one] speaking with you

The second quote simply says "I am", which is why he is in italics, (it is not in the text).

John 9:9
9 αλλοι ελεγον οτι ουτος εστιν αλλοι ελεγον ουχι αλλα ομοιος αυτω εστιν εκεινος ελεγεν οτι εγω ειμι

Oh No! He also said I AM??? Is he claiming to be God Almighty??? Nah, just add the word he into it, and don't capitalize AM, and the churchoids won't know the difference either way. chuckle.gif

In this case "It is I" would probably be a better choice because of the context.

The reference that I checked has a different sequence. Have you swapped the Greek around. But I am not qualified to discuss this. My view is that John 4:26, John 8:24, John 8:28, John 8:58 are all part of the theme of whether or not Jesus is the Christ.

Kind regards

No, I didn't swap anything: John 4:26 is the same on all accounts.

Big words.....

So, which translation are you using that support your beliefs.

How about you providing some actual justification for some of the more obviously, wildly, ultra-biased Trinitarian translations you posted to support what you believe.

New Living Translation
That is why I said that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I Am who I claim to be, you will die in your sins.”

Amplified Bible
That is why I told you that you will die [unforgiven and condemned] in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am the One [I claim to be], you will die in your sins.”

Contemporary English Version
This is why I said you will die with your sins unforgiven. If you don't have faith in me for who I am, you will die, and your sins will not be forgiven."

GOD'S WORD® Translation
For this reason I told you that you'll die because of your sins. If you don't believe that I am the one, you'll die because of your sins."

Good News Translation
That is why I told you that you will die in your sins. And you will die in your sins if you do not believe that 'I Am Who I Am'."

Aramaic Bible in Plain English
“I said to you that you shall die in your sins, for unless you shall believe that I AM THE LIVING GOD, you shall die in your sins.”

Mace New Testament
therefore I said to you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if you don't believe me to be what I am, ye shall die in your sins.

Worsley New Testament
Therefore I said unto you, that ye shall die in your sins; for if ye believe not that I am the Messiah, ye shall die in your sins.

It's now no wonder to me that this poll is beginning to look just like the one from March 2025 which I posted earlier. Other people are not so blindly stupid anymore because many have learned the hard way, and have now begun to investigate Biblical things on their own with much more scrutiny. And what is happening is also due to the fact that Gen X and Gen Z are beginning to enter into various religions and faiths, and heavily into Christianity, looking for real peace, and the truth, and to truly know if there is indeed a Creator, and if so, to know Him or at least know about Him, and the spiritual things and faith concerning Him: and they ain't stupid either, the ridiculous kinds of games being played in the above Trinitarian ultra-biased translations are not going to pass for much longer.

Although not popular.....
Unfortunately, with this world "lying in the power of the wicked one" (1 John 5:19), we should expect False ideas to be more prevalent than Truth, simply for that very reason: that the Devil is the "god of this world" (2 Corinthians 4:4); as Jesus said, "the ruler of this world" (John 12:31; John 14:30). Its not for nothing that Revelation 12:9 says the Devil is "misleading the entire inhabited Earth."

To me, its interesting the extent to which God has allowed Satan to influence & mislead.....For instance, centuries ago, He allowed a *superstition* to develop among His people, whereby His Own Name was removed from His Own Word over 6800 times, to be replaced w/ LORD (usually in all Capital Letters {as opposed to Lord}), leading to confusion. Since many aren't taught these facts, whenever people see "LORD" in the Bible, they usually don't think of Yahweh; they think, "Oh, that's Jesus."
Psalm 110:1 is a good Scripture to reason on, with someone. At Matthew 22:42-45; Mark 12:35-37; and Luke 20:41-44, Jesus referenced Ps.110:1, and applied the second lord - "Lord" - to himself. The first lord - "LORD" - was Yahweh, Jesus' God & Father. The One to whom Jesus prayed.

Another inaccuracy is the idea of people "going to Heaven." This teaching is everywhere, in almost every religion! Even Judaism now. Yet, the Bible constantly talks about this Earth, with the majority of mankind living forever here on earth, in peace and happiness! Isaiah 11:6-9; Psalm 37:10,11,29; Psalm 46:9; Proverbs 2:21,22; Matthew 5:5; etc., etc.

These are only two of many.

Greetings TazzJazz,
These are only two of many.
It seems pretty obvious from what you say is that you are a J.W. I agree with some of the JW teachings, but disagree with many other aspects of their teachings. I believe in the literal return of Jesus to this earth Acts 1:10-11, Acts 3:19-21.

Kind regards
Trevor

(Poll) A simple Yes or No answer:
Do you believe and agree with the following statement: "Jesus is YHWH."
Yes or No?

Feel free to post and explain why or why not in the thread.
Exodus 3:14 was God's introduction ( I Am) to Moses and the Israelites that would later be fully revealed in Christ.

And Elohim said unto Moshe, Eh-heh-yeh ashair Ehheh- yeh (I AM WHO I AM); and He said, Thus shalt thou say unto the Bnei Yisroel, EHHEH-YEH (I AM) hath sent me unto you.

I am the Way, the Truth and the Life ...
What does this mean?
a. He is the only way to Salvation.
b. Truth means what is real, realty, the Word, all knowledge and wisdom
c. Life > the source of life, physical and spiritual. In Him all things consist ( are held together). He is the Creator (John 1:1-14, Col. 1:16-17)
I am the Light of the world ...
I am the Good Shepherd ...
I am the Bread of
resurrected Himself and
I am the Door ...
I am the Vine ...
I am the Alpha and Omega
I am He ...
I am the resurrection ...
He is the Savior, the Messiah, All Mighty God.

Notice Jesus is trying to tell them that I am He, the Messiah, the Savior, the one who has always been there for them.
The Old Testament identifies God as the only Savior.
For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place. Isaiah 43:3
I,
even I, am the Lord, And besides Me there is no savior.
Isaiah 43:11
Are
we to believe that there is someone else, a different Savior?
In another passage He says "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!" Matt.23:37
It is He, the pre-incarnate Christ who has always been there since the beggining.

"For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist." Col. 1:16-17
"
In Him all things consist" ( or are held together). This means all physical and spiritual reality and in Him. Can we fathom that every atom in the universe is held together by His power? That is partly what's this verse is saying. Plus the spiritual realm ( which is the eternal unseen realm) is in Him.
Non-Trinitarians will struggle with this verse or distort or add to it.
That verse idenifies Jesus as deity! Jesus is the Creator of ALL THINGS. Notice his creation includes principalities (angels). He isn"/ an angel nor did He create Himself.
Who God is more important than a name. If He just gave a name, what would that mean to Moses? He began introducing Himself first as the God of Abrahm, Isaac and Jacob. Moses still pressed for His name. "Tell them 'I AM' sent me to you." Moses asked for a name as if that will mean something to him. I am the Creator, a supernatural being of a spiritual realm that he could not comprehend, I am the source of life and everything that is good, I am so much more and I will reveal myself to throughout history. I am infinite, all knowing, omniscient and omnipresent and hold all physical reality together. That would be too much for Moses to comprehend all at once. A name does not define you. Throughout the relationship between God and the Israelites, He began to inform them of Who He was.
Jesus brought more clarity to the world of Who God is, He showed them up close and personal.
"Therefore I said to you that you will die in your
sins; for if you do not believe that I
am
He, you will die in your sins.”
John 8:24

Gabriel said his name will be called Emmanuel, which means God with us. The WORD (the Logos), the pure essence and expression of God, became flesh and dwelt among us

This may be a one-liner for you but would take me a whole separate thread to explain it.

You can't explain, you do not have faith in Jesus. You have faith in something or someone else. All Scripture is spiritually discerned and so if you have not been baptized by Jesus with the Holy Spirit, you do not have discernment, just like blind men who go into a room and try to figure out what an elephant is. One grabs hold of his leg and says, "I got it, it's a tree". Another takes hold of his trunk and says, "No, it's a large snake, an anaconda", and another says, " You know what, it would take me a whole chapter to explain it ... but I know what this is".
