Your eyes saw my unformed substance;

in your jbook were written, every one of them,

the days that were formed for me,

when as yet there was none of them.

The psalmist David wrote: “O Jehovah, you have searched through me, and you know me.” (Psalm 139:1) David was confident that YHWH God knowledge of him was not superficial. God did not see David as humans might, noting only his physical stature, his speaking ability, or his skill in playing the harp. (1 Samuel 16:7, 18) YHWH God had “searched through” into David’s innermost self and had done so with loving concern for his spiritual welfare. YHWH God knows those who are his devoted servants just as well as he did David. So yes I believe what Psalm 139:16 says. Shouldn't that stir within us feelings of both gratitude and awe?

Even the darkness is not dark to you.
The night is as bright as the day.
Darkness and light are the same.
13 You formed the way I think and feel.
You put me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because you made me in such a wonderful way.
I know how amazing that was!

15 You could see my bones grow as my body took shape,
hidden in my mother’s womb.
16 You could see my body grow each passing day.
You listed all my parts, and not one of them was missing.
17 Your thoughts are beyond my understanding.
They cannot be measured!
18 If I could count them, they would be more than all the grains of sand.
But when I finished, I would have just begun
