Does All Really Mean All?

Wellll? I guess it's a matter of, How far will you go in believing God's revealed word? If you really want me to accept what you have cited in the above passages, it would really, really take a stretch of faith ya know. I think "all" really means some, or a few or a select group, its not like the word black which could mean white, or white, which could mean black, O.K.?

. I agree, it is dependent on believing God's revealed word, but one problem is who is revealing it HolySpirit or man. There are many religious traditions and teachings that man has revealed from God's word that are misrepresenting God and what He has said.

Including all the forms of declension; apparently a primary word; all, any, every, the whole: - all (manner of, means) alway (-s), any (one), X daily, + ever, every (one, way), as many as, + no (-thing), X throughly, whatsoever, whole, whosoever.

IMO if the author meant some rather than all seems he would have used the Greek word τίς like he used it in Romans 3:3 , or if he meant few, he would have used the Greek word ὀλίγος as he had used in Ephesians 3:3.

It is such a small word, and had I not come to understand the precision of the Greek language, and God's perfect plan to use it as His mode of furthering His truths, I might have just left it alone. But like the small particle of dirt in an oysters gullet, I couldn't leave it alone; it kept bothering me. Eventally, it yielded that fine pearl of beauty that comes from ingesting an irritable object and mulling it over. While "all" needs to remain in context to its connectives, the vast majority of its usages are readily applied as "entire" or, "whole". The student of Scripture must eventually choose which side of the fence he will make his stand. On the one side, there is the inclination to avoid including the whole, and assigning a portion only to those who "qualifiy", or, the other side where faith and trust in what God has spoken is solely the deciding factor. Straddling the fence may lead to a happy medium, but advancing forward requires feet on the ground, and one remains stationary always while straddling the fence. Those who favor the "qualifying" position will inevitably continue forward in places where men have always traveled. It is for those whom God has shown by His mercy and unmerited favor the truth of "all" to enjoy fellowship in Him and His Son at a level seldom attained in this life. May God grant them the patience and faith and grace to minister His great, great love over the fence in hope and expectation of the increase of God's glory in the earth.
