Does anyone make comments on YouTube videos? I have a question.

If I try to make a comment on a YouTube video, YouTube seems to want to make a channel for me.

So I have never commented as I don't want a channel. @Jay Ross told me he didn't make a channel and comments all of the time....but he's in a different country.

I don't need to make comments...but there is one comment (suggestion) I wanted to make to one YouTuber. So what's with this "make a channel thing" with YouTube? Do I need to in order to comment?

I live in the USA, and I had to make a YouTube channel in order to be able to comment on other people's videos.

So when you make a channel, does that make anything different from just watching videos? I mean will I regret making a channel? I don't plan on posting videos myself. Just wanted to make one comment.

Also, can one change one's name so your real name isn't showing?

I have never posted a video on YouTube myself, so you can start a channel there without having to post anything of your own. Having a channel doesn't alter my ability to watch other people's videos. Actually, I am logged off of my YouTube channel about 99% of the time. I only log into it if I want to post a comment on somebody else's video.

I am pretty sure that you can start a YouTube channel under a fictitious name. If you get a free email account somewhere under another name, then you could probably use that email address and username to start your channel.

I do know this:

When you are logged into your channel, your viewing history will be recorded. Of course, you can always go in and delete it.
