An apology in advance to everyone if this sounds sacreligious or atheistic. The ninth commandment is to not lie, and I would be committing this sin if I said the opposite of what I am about to say.

To answer the title question: no. God does **NOT** care. He does not care about us, our sufferings, or how we are treated.


Because he doesn't do anything for most of us.

Hard yes. People are always talking about how those who are happy on earth will suffer in the afterlife, but there are many rich, happy Christians who enjoy the fat of earth then recieve a large reward in heaven. These are the people God truly loves: the ones who never know any suffering and have the best of both lives.


What about the people who have been asking their whole lives, repeatedly crying out to God only for him to turn a deaf ear? Not just for things we want but things we NEED to survive?



I hate sound wicked (as if this entire reply hasn't made me sound as if I am anyway), but I lost my trust in God long ago. He was never there for me and only in two out of the endless tragedies that befell me did he intervene. I learned the hard way, long ago that he does not care about me. He cares only for his favorites. He cares for the rich, he cares about the successful, he cares about the beautiful, but most of us are just common creatures that do not matter.

I could never look back and I could never step into that world again, no matter how alone I am, even if He does not love or care about me. If I thought that, I think I would just off myself...not one for "pretending" but, in this case, it's a survival tactic.

All I got out of those FERVENT prayers is two churches that turned out to be uber liberal and, that is NOT at all what someone like myself should ever be around as, I've done a flip flop years ago from a screaming liberal to God's ways.
Please, God, there has to be another way between loveless obedience to sound doctrine (Ephesus), or works of love but with tolerance of fleshy self-indulgence (Thyatira).

That passage has been so misused and abused over the years to make God look bad.

The meaning of hated is a different kind of problem. He explains the passage thus: “I chose Jacob and rejected Esau, induced to this course by my mercy alone, and not by any worthiness in his works.… I had rejected the Edomites.…” This accords with the stress throughout this passage on the thought of election for service. You are kind to say this. Yet, the verse that comes to mind when you wrote the last sentence is, "Satan believes, and trembles". It will be as it will be, nothing can change the outcome of His plan, or our salvation iI suppose. Thanks for replying and I hope you will somehow find your own peace.

Amen! That passage sure has been used over and over by Calvinists and others. You have beautifully broken it down. I was once taught that what it really means is that God "preferred" Jacob over Esau. :) , which is what you have basically proven in your study and breakdown. Fine job brother!
