I'm brushing up on my Bible studies and came across a Christian brother who says it does. Unfortunately, I didn't catch where in Isaiah that he said it occurs. Anyway, before I delve into Isaiah, do you know if his claim is accurate? Thank you.

Hello

You can find Prophetes in the scriptures from Genesis 17 with respect to Israel retaining possession of the Land of Canaan, however the English Translations tend to infer that the promise of the Land of Canaan was a forever promise whereas my understanding is that the possession of the land of Canaan was for a period of time where the vanishing point would be beyond their ability to comprehend.

Also, in 2 Chronicles 7:12ff God told Solomon that if the Israelites continued in their practice of idolatrous worship that the temple would become a byword after it was destroyed and that the nation and the people of Israel would be scattered to the four corners of the earth to fulfill what God had told Jacob.

Many of the prophets also repeated this warning to Israel and I know that Jeremiah pen Lamentation on the scattering of Irael for two ages before God would gather them once more to Himself.

As I am away travelling, I do not have the time to look at your question. Perhaps Isaiah was also a prophet who repeated God's warning to Israel.

Shalom

Also, in 2 Chronicles 7:12ff God told Solomon that if the Israelites continued in their practice of idolatrous worship that the temple would become a byword after it was destroyed...

Is that prophecy related to 70AD or the destruction of the first temple?
