How do you keep a nation safe when not even seemingly “safe places” like churches and rock concerts and shopping malls are immune from violence?

The government’s answer, as always, will lead us further down the road we’ve travelled since 9/11 towards totalitarianism and away from freedom.

Those who want safety at all costs will clamor for more gun control measures (if not at an outright ban on weapons for non-military, non-police personnel), widespread mental health screening of the general population and greater scrutiny of military veterans, more threat assessments and behavioral sensing warnings, more CCTV cameras with facial recognition capabilities, more “See Something, Say Something” programs aimed at turning Americans into snitches and spies, more metal detectors and whole-body imaging devices at soft targets, more roaming squads of militarized police empowered to do random bag searches, more fusion centers to centralize and disseminate information to law enforcement agencies, and more surveillance of what Americans say and do, where they go, what they buy and how they spend their time.

the apostle Peter tells us that “scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, ‘Where is the promise of His coming?’” (American King James Version).

Regardless of when it occurs, there will be people who express disdain even as the very time approaches. No matter how difficult things look, some will assure everyone that man has everything under control. Tragically, such assurances will do nothing but provide a false sense of security, leading people to foolishly continue to trust in human ability rather than in God. The Bible describes believers as living in a state of expectancy, in a state of tension, between two worlds. We live in the present world, which we know will end, while we look for the world to come with the return of Christ. “So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him

You'll never come to know God by jumping around the internet and reading someone else's words. By doing this, the hole you're in now only gets deeper.

If you would like to know what many of us here know concerning God, turn off your computer and pick up a bible. Read everything from Matthew to Revelation and then go back and read it again and again and again.

You're not learning anything from your cut and paste adventures. It shows on those rare occasions when the words you post are yours and not that of someone else. You believe you're evangelizing and fulfilling the Great Commission, but you're not. All you're doing is putting your lack of knowledge and understanding on display for everyone to see.

Do yourself a favor. Stop reading about the word of God and sit down and actually read the word of God. You'll discover there's a huge difference in God's word and mans word.

And while you're at it, stop this silly cut and paste. No ones paying attention.
