This quote by John Wesley used to drive much of European thinking and activities, but now it seems they have forgotten it (perhaps because they have nearly abandoned Christianity).

Many of Our myriad World Cup visitors have been astonished at what is available at restaurants and stores. American businesses, driven by earnings in highly competitive markets, know that the key to success is to bring in as many customers as possible (and entice them to return). For many restaurants, this tactic translates into large portions and “free“ refills. For stores, it is offering as much variety (and as many “bargains”) as possible.

But at the heart of this thinking is that our Constitutional Government allows Americans to live they please as long as they harm no one or anything. Thus: start a business, be innovative, work hard, earn as much as you can (and be grateful taxes are not any higher). Then, save for the future and be generous with charitable giving.

So far, no visitor videos seem to have appeared that grasp what American businesses (and most Americans) take for granted. It will not help when they return home and find that their governments no longer support a dynamic business economy like the American model. The lure (and economic drag) of socialism grips tenaciously.

Once again, a return to Christianity by preaching and inculcating the Gospel is needed if they are to revive.
