the spirit of god gives me the conviction to believe in jesus christ as the son of god. atheist will not open up their minds and hearts to enable them to receive it.
that same spirit can teach one how to understand the word of god and weed out the inability of mortal men (like the gospel writers) to always acurately explain the true mysteries of god.

here is another testimate that says that jesus was crucified on the sixth day of the week (friday). it coincides with the biblical gospel accounts.

Narrative of Joseph of Arimathæa, Arimathea

Advanced Information
Text edited by Rev. Alexander Roberts and James Donaldson and first published by T&T Clark in Edinburgh in 1867. Additional introductionary material and notes provided for the American edition by A. Cleveland Coxe, 1886.

And going out at the fourth hour, and at the fifth, he finds Jesus walking in the street. And as evening was coming on, Judas says to the Jews: Give me the aid of soldiers with swords and staves, and I will give him up to you. They therefore gave him officers for the purpose of seizing Him. And as they were going along, Judas says to them: Lay hold of the man whom I shall kiss, for he has stolen the law and the prophets. Going up to Jesus, therefore, he kissed Him, saying: Hail, Rabbi! it being the evening of the ]fifth day. And having laid hold of Him, they gave Him up to Caiaphas and the chief priests, Judas saying: This is he who stole the law and the prophets. And the Jews gave Jesus an unjust trial, saying: Why hast thou done these things? And he answered nothing.

Having therefore done many and dreadful things against Jesus that night, they gave Him up to Pilate the procurator at the dawn of the preparation, that he might crucify Him; and for this purpose they all came together. After a trial, therefore, Pilate the procurator ordered Him to be nailed to the cross, along with the two robbers. And they were nailed up along with Jesus, Gestas on the left, and Demas on the right.

Thats Not the Bible.

Hi there CB members as many of you are following holidays this year i would like you to know that easter is nothing short od idolitry and the junk it teaches. Easter eggs relate to the queen of heaven as the bible refers to her as its supposed fairytale that ishtar actually fell from heaven and hatched from a egg. Eggs are pagan symbols that represent fertility, better off lets look at the rabbit know does the rabbit lay eggs nope far from it the rabbits a mamel. Rabbits and eggs are of no value in the word of god there is no command to hide eggs, color eggs or to buy choclate coated rabbits of idolitry. Lets look at what god says of these matters through scripture shall we:

Jeremiah 7:17, Jeremiah 7:18, Jeremiah 7:19 and Jeremiah 7:20

Jeremiah 44:1, Jeremiah 44:2, Jeremiah 44:3, Jeremiah 44:4, Jeremiah 44:5, Jeremiah 44:6, Jeremiah 44:7, Jeremiah 44:8, Jeremiah 44:9, Jeremiah 44:10, Jeremiah 44:11, Jeremiah 44:12, Jeremiah 44:13, Jeremiah 44:14, Jeremiah 44:15, Jeremiah 44:16, Jeremiah 44:17, Jeremiah 44:18, Jeremiah 44:19, Jeremiah 44:20, Jeremiah 44:21, Jeremiah 44:22, Jeremiah 44:23, Jeremiah 44:24, Jeremiah 44:25, Jeremiah 44:26, Jeremiah 44:27, Jeremiah 44:28, Jeremiah 44:29 and Jeremiah 44:30

Ezekiel 8:15, Ezekiel 8:16, Ezekiel 8:17 and Ezekiel 8:18.

This was blatent sun worship within what was supposed to be the lords house so i ask you all look what your churches are doing today the exact same thing that the lord forbids in his word. The sun is a great creation of god and we should admire and love god who made it not rising and chasing after the sun. This is my main message this year cut off the false holiday of easter. Revelation 3:16 clearly states that the lukewarm will be spewed out of the lords mouth, please cut off the lukewarm holiday and realize that christ is our passover for one and all times. The appointed time for passover is this. Leviticus 23:5.

I hope i have helped shed some truth concerning eatser and the falsehood of it. Please open your eyes and stand up againt such hethanistic practices of egg rolling and rabbits. Those have no place within the body of christ.

God bless

I don't celebrate any of the pagan holidays, Jesus told us what to do in Rememberance of Him;

This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.

Nobody celebrated Easter until the mid 2nd century. Of course we in the Enlgish speaking world say Easter but the fetival is really the Passion or Passiontide. The word Easter coems from the Anglo-Saxon pagan earth goddess Aeostre or Erce. The eggs are slightly pagan I'll admit but hardly idolatrous since we don't exactly bow down before them do we. Chocolate eggs and bunnies are OK for the kids but don't even think about them when I think of Easter. the Last Supper, Calvery, the Crucifixion and the Ressurrection are more on my mind. I think it is good that Christianity has been able to adapt and take over the old pagan festivals like Yule, Saturnalia and Samain. It made conversion a lot easier. Perhaps if the church had not adapted more in then it would have not made so many converts

That's what I mean. Just becuse there is some symbolism there it does not mean that easter eggs are bad and idolatrous. To insinuate that Easter, the most important festival of the Christian calender is in any way blasphemous is tryly abhorrnat. If the poster said is it possible that certain aspects of Easter are blasphemous then I would still say no of course not.

Our calander is designed to be a lunar calander not a solar calander. If you do a bit of research the moon clearly represents satan and thus it was made the lesser light in genesis. As christians we are children of the day not night. But anyway though how does eggs and rabbits tie into the birth death and resurection of jesus christ. Were in the bible does it specifically say that christ died on the cross with a egg or rabbit? where will you find in the bible were it commands us to hide eggs or make idolitrus choclate bunnys. Think about what we teach the children of our churches evry year rolling eggs across the ground, coloring eggs and we have to have the easter rabbit in all this. Well i say that god is a consuming fire and not only easter but all the other false holidays that dont make christ there focus will be consumed when christ returns.

Easter is God focussed. Eggs andrabbits are peripheral, they are not at the core of the festival. Easter is calculated to fit in with the Jewish Passover. Also, chocolate eggs are very much about the commercialisation. If we strip away this periphery we are left with an entirely Christian and Bilically based festival with echoes of Kewish roots.

Do we make idols out of eggs and bunnies? No! because we do not prostrate oursleves in front of them and worship them. When someone worships an idol they take the statue or effigy to be the living embodiment of the deity they are worshipping Have you ever seen someone sorhip an easter egg. Hunting for Easter eggs is just fun for the kids.

If you strip away the eggs and the bunny and all that then there's nothing left ... pagan fertility observances were combined ( syncretized http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syncretism )
so that emperor Constantine could draw all of his subjects under control of the Roman Empire.

This goes back to Genesis, people. He separated LIGHT from DARKNESS ... and please dont argue here against genesis being anything other than a creation story.

Do you think He looked down upon those pagans wicked practices and shrugged his shoulders ?

Do you think He can now look at some *altered* pagan practices that some MAN said were now to be about bible stories and NOT see the same wickedness he saw in the beginning ?

I love chocolate mike this is true but for me what does ot gain to go out and buy a bunny. Do you even realize that we go to all the trouble evry year like clockwise going to the trouble of setting up an easter basket for the children. We put bunnys and gifts in the basket and claim that the easter bunny brought it to you as a gift. When we hide eggs thats a pagan symbol of fertility when the bible clearly says dont make for yourself a graven image weather on earth or in heaven and yet the egg and the bunny are all from the earth. To the people that like the holidays and rekoice in such nonesense i say set your idolitrus christmas trees and choclate bunnys and eggs up all year round and worship them. Because thats the thing that it all boils down to we disgrace the lord when he doest call for those idols to be set up and worshipped. If you want to worship a tree or a egg or bunny go full force with it and pray to it. Go full force with it and let it save you when your life is turned around. Because the answer is is those idols are dead of life and they wont save you, the answer is those idols are not alive and sitting at the right hand of the father.

Hello Jar

I think the point many of us are trying to make is that (to us) Easter is 100% about Christ and we could care less what the Pagans celebrate .

It would be no different than if I chose every July 8th as a special day of prayer and some Pagan uses that same day to put pins in a voodo doll. What he does has no bearing on what I do. I view Easter the same way.

I do buy chocolates and candies every Easter but it is because I love sweets. No other reason.

Best regards
Martin

I don't think there's a problem with it because the Christian Easter or Pasiontide is not the old pagan rites. God would approve because it is done in his name and is a bout the death and resurrection of his son. If you strip away the eggs and the bunny what you get is a Christian festival which is Christian in inetent and while it might harken back in soem ways to paganism or it is done with Christian intent and in god's name I cannot find evil with it.

Preach it Brother.

No other time, (Outside Halloween) do I find specials on tons of Chocolate in the shape of large rabbits. Can't be a bad thing here. As for Easter??
I can't claim to observe that day any different than any other day. Same with all the other Holiday's. I just forget, and don't like messing with it. What day is a better day to give God all the Glory anyway?

I think the point many of us are trying to make is that (to us) Easter is 100% about Christ and we could care less what the Pagans celebrate .

And the point that I made was that to HIM it matters not what you think, what it means to you or if you somehow MENTALLY negate what you know to be true of their pagan origins.

He changes not, if He looked down upon pagans 4,000 years ago and His wrath was stirred why would anyone want to have any part of a practice that even REMOTELY resembles something that has no part in Him ?

Why follow what the Book says and let this other stuff creep into how you observe Him ?

Your parents and their parents before them all said the same thing ... "oh it's just for the children" ... does anyone not see how this PERPETUATES FALSEHOOD in relation to His WORD ?

Honestly, this has been getting revealed for over 150 years. It's so widely known now that I saw yahoo and aol homepage news articles explaining the eostre / ishtar origins. How can people see this so plainly and still continue in a VAIN TRADITION OF MAN ... if you looked down at the ground and saw a snake and before you ran away someone said, "oh that's ok, it's just there for the children" would you stand your ground and continue in these traditions ?

No-ones going to hell for eating chololate eggs. In our litrurgies (in my church); the Book of Common prayer, Common worship and the English missal there is no mention of Chololate eggs and bunnies therefore they are not part of our Easter celebrations, therefore it isnot the fault of the church. The service on Maunday Thursday is about the Last Supper, on Good friday it is about the Crucifixion and on Easter Sunday it is about the ressurrection. Nowhere do when mention Ishtar, nowhere do we mention the Easter bunny, nowhere do we mention chocolate eggs, we are concerned with what Jeus did for us and that is that.

I think it is good to turn something which is evil on its head, to turn ito to the service of God. did our Lord not turn the world upside down when he died for us by defeating the old order of death and sin? The festivals of the Chrstian take the pagan rites and turn them to good use. The only thing I'm not keen on in easter is the commercialisation.

I for one celebrate Resurrection Sunday. I used to participate in the Easter Egg thing when I was a kid. I don't think there's anything wrong with giving the kids a little chocolate or dying eggs as long as they know that we are not celebrating anything other than the resurrection of Jesus.

I think the point HFGirl is not to partake of the things of the World, even though it may seem innocent. The concept is that if Easter is found to be a pagan Holiday, then our children should not be doing what the World does. If you like me though, bring them Chocolate Rabbits on!!!

Here, let's follow this line of thought a little further.

I'm tech ignorant or I could make a fancy little pie chart or something to illustrate ... filled with things of Him versus things of the world.

Pressed for time right now also, so I will paraphrase some concepts ... namely, BAPTISM BY FIRE ... and BEING REFINED.

I had it explained to me like this, when metal is heated to melting the IMPURITIES rise to the top ... this is known as DROSS. It is then scooped off and flung away.

Now, how did the ancient metalworkers know when the material they were working with was a FINISHED PRODUCT ?

When they looked into their work, their OWN REFLECTION was ALL THEY SAW. They had removed all the impurities and cast them aside, leaving nothing to mar the IMAGE.

These practices that we dont understand today (after thousands of years of blindly following man's traditions) are not going to REFLECT to our Father the image of His son.
