The narrow gate is a symbolic idea.

There is the "broad way that leads to destruction", and that is religion....or any attempt to connect with God, or become like a God, by some type of Religion or self effort.

Then there is the "narrow way".......and that is the ONLY WAY TO GOD....who is THE WAY....... And that is Jesus. He is the "narrow Way", as He is the only way to be saved and go to heaven. Its by Him.

I did, i did share it, .... if he will read it.

You'll note that often people are very confused by verses that are symbolic, as they try to believe them and teach them as if they are LITERAL... to be taken Literally.

Now, there is a Great White Throne Judgment.... and a Judgement seat of Christ. There is a Lamb's book.
These are Literal. But there are many verses, that are allegorical, symbolic, or even a parable....and when a person tries to make these LITERAL, then the wheels fall off and everything flies apart, theologically, and they become a mental mess regarding they way they try to make the bible fit their perspective, vs, rightly dividing it.
And the even bigger picture of a theological maniac, is when a person is not really born again....they are just very religious but lost, and they are trying to be a bible teacher.
That is a bad situation when they are allowed to just rant on a forum, or worse, they start a denomination or a church.

How does one "enter in at the narrow gate"???

Best question ever David, and in simple terms Jesus said those on that road do Jehovah's will. Mat 7:21-23. The first step of getting through that narrow gate is Jn 17:3. Are you ready to come to know God better through a Bible study sir?

'For by grace are ye saved
through faith;
and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God:
Not of works,
lest any man should boast.'

(Eph 2:8-9)

Hello there,

The fact that the word, 'faith', is followed immediately by the word, 'that', has led some to teach from this passage that 'faith is the gift of God'. There is such a thing as 'faith, the gift of God', but it is a special gift to one who is already a believer (1Corinthians 12:9):-

'But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom;
to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
To another faith by the same Spirit; ... ... ... '

(1 Cor. 12:7-11)

* Faith is the medium through which we are saved, and grace is the cause, 'it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure'. (Romans 4:16). Grace imparts, faith receives.

* It is SALVATION which is the gift of God, and not faith, which is simply the medium by which it is received. It is a grace by faith salvation that we have received by the mercy of God.

Praise His Holy Name!
