Equifax offered free credit monitoring to the irate public after what happened, and now to make matters worse when people sign up for free credit monitoring, it was found that a page popped up to download malware. If a person downloads it on their Microsoft machines, their PC's can be compromised. Somehow the hacker inserted that page.

It may be best to ride this out as these low-life hackers will take advantage of the fearful situation and do a lot of phishing. A good credit card agency ought to text you of a suspicious purchase.

maybe one should go to another credit agency and see what Equifax's credit status is. these jerkoffs like Equifax have been around a least since the 80's, Equifax is getting its just desserts if you ask me. their main purpose is to help the rich get richer whilst you ask for permission to be indebted and like it, like "good credit" rating is a achievement or something.
