If I want you to listen to me or read what I am writing, what is a great way to do that? Over the years, I've done a ton of radio commercials and some TV voice overs. When I do, I always insist on creative freedom to make changes in the wording as I see fit with the point being I want the listener to pay attention to what I am saying. You do that right at the start of the commercial. Right now as I write, I have a Book opened which shows that concept was used by that One God who designed and built all of us, including those who think they are here only because of the actions of lovesick amoeba. Yes, there is a message here and yes that God who wrote this Book got the attention of millions over the years with a mysterious event which, although is interesting, is an "ARROW" which points directly to a great concept which you, me and every person on this earth can use!!! Genesis 5:21..."And Enoch lived 65 years and begat Methuselah." Verse 22: "And Enoch walked with God AFTER he begat Methuselah....". Then verse 24 the mystery verse: "And Enoch walked with God; and he was not; for God took him". What do we remember about Enoch? Almost in lockstep everyone will say, including non-believers, "He was the person who didn't die. He went somewhere and we don't know where! That is spooky...that is a great mystery." Many think he immediately went to Heaven while still physically alive. (That is another matter which perhaps we should cover one of these days!) Is it possible God created this "mystery" to point like an ARROW to the word "AFTER"??? QUESTION: What does that verse mean? ANSWER: Enoch wasn't always a righteous man! The birth of Methuselah was the MOTIVATION to CHANGE that!!!! For 65 years, Enoch did not live a Godly life! If that was not true, God would not have said "after". Do you see the significance there? Something happened in Enoch's life which caused him to CHANGE the way he was living!!! Do you know somebody who also needs that "change" and maybe that "somebody" is you? Guess what? It looks like all those stupid, immature cliches people use like: "A leopard can't change his spots"; "Once a cheat, always a cheat", "Once a drunk, always a drunk", "I'm too old to learn"; "Once a druggie, always a druggie" are just NOT true!!!! The Bible is FULL of inspiration regarding how people can become a better person in the eyes of God and that includes the writer of this message! Check out: Col. 3:9-10, Eph. 6:16 or Phil. 4:13! Change is NOT easy but you and I have an open line to the most important Person ever to ask for help and send others into our lives to help us! Every pastor out there knows this is true! How about you? A pastor looks out over the congregation and sees the faces of those who made those changes. Its just a matter of that person taking the step. There's no mystery about Enoch. He made a change after 65 long years of walking thru darkness. Why not be just like him? Someone is ready and willing to help you and He just needs to know you want His help!!!

Could you please re write this in the same format you would get a radio script.

That is with so it is easily readable instead of a solid block of print.

Is this what you mean?

Check out:

  • Col. 3:9-10, 8 But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. 9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, 10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, 11 where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all.
  • Eph. 6:16, 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— 19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

  • Phil. 4:13! 10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last your[c] care for me has flourished again; though you surely did care, but you lacked opportunity. 11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: 12I know how to be abased, and I know how to [e]abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through [f]Christ who strengthens me.

Is this easier to follow?

PS: - I have not commented about the theological accuracy of the presented commentary regarding Enoch given above.
For clarity I have included the scriptures referred to above, embedded within their context within the referred Letters.

I was always curious about the wording surrounding Enoch, because it speaks similarly in a few places

For example, seeing death in the Psalm, it sets forth a question

Psalm 89:48 What man is he that liveth, and shall not **see death**? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave?

Concerning the same it's as if Jesus answers that question concerning "what man" which would not **see death** here

John 8:51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep **my saying**, he shall never **see death**.

Whereas in Enoch, he was a man that liveth and did not **see death** as it is worded this way

Heb 11:10 **By faith** Enoch was translated that he should not **see death**; and was** not found**, because God had translated him:
for **before** "his translation" he had **this testimony**, that he pleased God.

A few things,

We see it was **by faith** Enoch was translated that he should not **see death**

Even as we know, **without faith** its impossible to **please God**

But we also know that **before** "Enoch's translation" it tells us he had **this testimony**, that **he pleased God**

So Enoch's faith before his translation plays into his not seeing death, but it says,

Enoch was** not found**, because God had **translated him**

The picture always had this "I no longer live but Christ liveth in me" vibe to it (translated from death unto life)

Or similarly, not being found, but **found in him**

Phil 3:9 And **be found in him**, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God **by faith**

Not convinced, but the wording in it brings other things to mind

The mystery of Enoch is a reference to Time and our yearly calendar.

Verse 23, if translated out of the story context and strictly as words, would read "And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty-five yearly." Word definitions below:

Genesis 5:23 "And H1961➔ all H3605 the days H3117 of Enoch H2585 were ➔H1961 three H7969➔ hundred H3967 sixty H8346 and ➔H7969 five H2568 years: H8141

Ultimately, in the surrounding verses there is more--if one has ears to hear. Verse 31 would read "Powerful lived 777 years/times/measures."

I marvel at this stuff--because, while it may appear to be a fools errand, it is the design nature of God. Revelation.
