I use makeup because I’m getting old. A little eye mascara goes a long way to making my lashes look like I still have them. If you think about make up and what it does …it covers our imperfections. To me the bigger question is do we cover up our imperfections so others don’t see them ..like jealousy, to covet, bitterness, hatred, sadness, overwhelming sorrow…consider Facebook and how often it’s not only the filters that are used to give off an appearance but often times there’s a mask of pretending to cover up the truth of drowning and needing help…but taught not to remove our mask. Good topic…but to me it’s not makeup but what mask we use to wear so others don’t see the real us that we hide.

Since covid lockdowns and my caring for a mother with dementia... (only care giver) ... my only outings are the grocery store, pharmacie, and the big time is the hardware store. Occasionally I can get mom to get her hair cut and colored but as of 2 days ago she does not want that... and I wont leave her long enough to get mine done.

I am 76... and too far right to keep wearing a mask... though they hid a lot for those 2 years.

Good fopr you that you do. I guess I have just gotten to the point OI dont care and no worries that the Golden Bachelor will come knocking on my door.

I take care of my 92 Year old mom too. So I feel your pain. It is hard and draining. Don’t misunderstand I’ve gotten there also to …what’s the point? but with all my stress I’ve started doing small things that makes me feel better. I had stopped caring about my home but I’ve been thinking again of little things I want to get done. I’ve started going to the gym three times a week. It’s not to change how I look but to get rid of some of the stress I carry around with me. It helps with energy too. I’m also not looking to be made up but I do take the time now to do what makes me feel a little more like among the living because caring for someone passing slowly away and that is all you see everyday…to me I have to remind myself I’m still alive. Does that make sense? You’re doing something so difficult and tiresome…I do get how it takes a toll on you mentally and physically …
