Isaiah 61:10
10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
NKJV

It is God that covers sinful men/women with His righteousness.

Romans 3:8-26
8 And why not say, "Let us do evil that good may come"? — as we are slanderously reported and as some affirm that we say. Their condemnation is just.

(All Have Sinned (Psalms 14:1-3; 53:1-4))

9 What then? Are we better than they? Not at all. For we have previously charged both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin.
10 As it is written: "There is none righteous, no, not one;
11 There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God.
12 They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one."
13 "Their throat is an open tomb; With their tongues they have practiced deceit"; "The poison of asps is under their lips";
14 "Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness."
15 "Their feet are swift to shed blood;
16 Destruction and misery are in their ways;
17 And the way of peace they have not known."
18 "There is no fear of God before their eyes."
19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

20 Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

(God's Righteousness Through Faith)

21 But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,
22 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference;
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed,
26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

Yes, it is God who saves us, who chose us from before he created the universe, who predesined us to be his Sons, co-heirs with Christ.

"...The righteousness of the righteous person will be on him, and the wickedness of the wicked person will be on him."

iow other Scripture should be reflected upon here, not ignored

God sees through the original. He sees all men through Adam then Noah, and Nah found grace in God's sight hence the reasoning to save Noah and discard the rest, so the following generations have that life that Noah gave them. the possibility to find grace, which is everybody today. then God sees the Israelites through Abraham Isaac and Jacob, and are still experiencing that life they have received being born into the world through Jacob. hence being born of Spirit the Holy Spirit receiving the Life of Christ are those who are seen by the Father through the Son in the Holy Spirit. in that is the need for use to be covered or seen through Christ who has saved us from being seen otherwise.

therefore the Father sees us through His Beloved Son that Jesus gave us via being born of the Life He has, that we may share in the son ship He has.

because that was what was lost in the garden between Adam and the Almighty:
Luk 3:38 Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.

so if Adam would have retained that Life that he died from that day, restoration to son ship with the Almighty wouldn't have been warranted.
