Prosperous could mean all kinds of things.
And not always what people think it is.

shalom is used through the old testament for prosperity.

Shalom (Hebrew: שָׁלוֹם ‬ shalom; also spelled as sholom, sholem, shalom, shulem) is a Hebrew word meaning peace, harmony, wholeness, completeness, prosperity, welfare and tranquility

this is what prosperity is not just one of them but all 7 of them. if you are not living in all 7 of them then you are lacking in that area. being able to live a persperous life by the shalom definition sounds impossible but it is not. money alone does not make a person prosperous which i agree with triumph about. many think prosperity hs to do only with money. it does not.

Back in early 1990's, The pastor said all kinds of erroneous things concerning "prosperity". One of the things he said stands out in my memory and a red flag sure did rise up...even though I was quite the babe in Christ...He said "God doesn't want his children to be driving around in junker cars, and living in poverty..." Uh huh...he was speaking solely about material blessings, not Spiritual.

And...is not the desires of our heart been placed in there by the Holy Spirit? And what exactly is it this prosperity "gospel" consider the "desires of your heart? Material riches in this world?? I will NEVER agree with that...If one is truly saved, your own desires are replaced by God Himself with His desires...we should "want" what He want's, not new cars, nice houses, money...blah, blah, blah. He has made us rich in all things SPIRITUAL. No child of His is left wanting anything to eat, clothes to wear and shelter..."Seek ye first..." I was where you are and stayed in it for 2 years! I tried so hard to MAKE myself have FAITH for all the things this "gospel" teaches...then, God brought me out of that kind of teaching and showed me Truth...HE wants our hearts, all of it and, He want's hearts for Him and Him alone. We do not seek the things of this world.

And that's why the Prosperity Preachers should be helping Christians to come out of it productively, instead of lining their own pockets at the expense of the poor. Do you see the problem?

The King (Christ, our LORD) surpassed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom...and Glory. All the kings of the earth “seek” an audience with Our Lord to hear the wisdom that God has put in His heart. He will show you how to overcome the enemy without resorting to the evil of the enemy. He will show you how to be content. How to have peace in the midst of a storm. He will show you the true meaning of love: a contradiction to all this present world is built on. But the foundation has been moved. HE is now the foundation and those that find it (Him) dig deep and anchor into the Rock that won’t be shaken.

I can’t convince you, but take all the gold and silver and money(prosperity) and health and wealth of this temporal world and you will not come close to the prosperity of God. Everything combined, all the riches, do not come close to the value God has placed on His people. Isaiah 52:3 “For thus saith the Lord , Ye have sold yourselves for nought; and ye shall be redeemed without money.”

Growing up, I was told of the gold that waits in heaven, how heaven is paved with it. The gold is HIM. That which ought to be sought after. None of those things we are tempted with here as a means to satisfy our thirst; will ever satisfy. No amount of money is ever enough to someone with a hole in their bag.

HE has declared the End from the Beginning. We have seen it in Job. And Jesus told us about those that forsake all for His namesake, and of their inheritance of the earth. God’s people do prosper in what counts and what will remain: Truth, love, peace, hope, joy; a face to face relationship with God. The creator. Don’t reduce the gospel to dollar signs. Just look to heaven and to those signs....do the two compare?

By not making them poorer by grabbing their money. Prosperity Preachers produce nothing. They are PARASITIC. If they wish to be wealthy, nothing is stopping them from having their own businesses and then preaching the Gospel ABSOLUTELY FREE!

So here is a question: if God told you that you could put your hands on a person and your faith would heal them Spiritually or heal them physically...which would you choose?

Not all. Just the ones who love a lavish lifestyle while they preach the Prosperity Gospel and plead for cash. One of them had three private jets already, but "Jesus told him to get another one which costs several million dollars"! In the meantime hundreds of thousands of brothers and sister are getting by with barely a meal a day.

If you really think about it, that is a total disgrace for Christianity. As I said they all can start their own enterprises and become as wealthy as they wish. But then go and preach the Gospel AT NO COST -- WITHOUT MONEY AND WITHOUT PRICE.

Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. (Isa 55:1)
