Romans 12:2 (NASB)
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

“so you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

The will of God, we are told, is that which is the good, acceptable and perfect. This is true for all things, circumstances and situations. There is a good, acceptable and perfect solution to all predicaments we find ourselves in. There is a “right” choice. It is this right choice, we are told that is to be our goal and if I may use the word our “heritage.” For this is to be our end result. Not only to be able to discern what is the good, acceptable and perfect, but also for the purpose of walking in it. This walking, in this good, acceptable and perfect is a moment by moment walking. In the small as well as the large. This walking towards God in all the good, acceptable and perfect solutions to all the predicaments we find ourselves in, is that that brings the blessings of God, the joy of God, the peace of God into our hearts, souls, lives. Where our hearts find such a rest in the knowledge that we are pleasing to God. Not that we are perfect or we have arrived, but we are living up to that standard to which we have obtained, and in that, is the good, acceptable and perfect will of God at this particular moment of time in our lives. For God waits to be welcomed to work in our lives, but can only work in the good, acceptable and perfect. So therefore because He can only work in the good, acceptable and perfect we have been invited to walk where He can work. For God is love and He loves us with a never ending love and waits to show forth that love in our lives but can only do that in the good, acceptable and perfect.

That our hearts would cry out for the good, acceptable and perfect in all we do, say, think, dream, hope, desire. So God might have the ground for which He needs to bless.

Blessings,

Much love in Christ, Not me

Hi Not me,

Sure;

Have you ever noticed that God only blesses you when you walk in obedience.

When your walking in disobedience He doesn’t bless..... For God would always bless, but His hands are tied by the believers behavior. So He waits for the believer to walk in obedience, so He’s free to bless.

Just like earthy Father’s, good behavior gets rewarded, bad behavior not so much.

Hope it helps with my meaning.

Blessings,

Much love in Christ, Not me

And when you say "bless" what do you mean? What does His blessing consist of?

Much love!

That which is the good, acceptable and perfect.

But come on Mark, I know you know these things. What question is really on your heart?

Actually, I'm trying to learn to learn your thoughts about what you are saying without putting into it any of my own assumptions.

I don't know what you include or not in your idea of blessings. It may not be the same as mine.

I guess it's in the words, blessing, the blessedness in the Sermon on the Mount, Oh how happy is . . . or . . . There is the blessing of well-speaking, where God gives a benefit.

So I have in mind eulogia, and there is no time that He is not with me, active in my life, blessing me in this way.

If I am walking in the Spirit, He is there blessing me by empowering my walk, producing good works, increasing my understanding. If I am walking according to the flesh, He is there blessing me by drawing me back to Him, and protecting me as is needed and as is wise, limiting and allowing my actions according to His wisdom, and just plain being there for me.

But like I said, you may be working with a different idea of blessing, and I was interested in what that may be.

The man who is walking according to the flesh is not alway so "Oh How Happy is . . ."

Much love!

Fwiw God has given you light concerning righteousness that I can only imagine.

One time during prayer I was quickened to ask the Lord to “Let Your perfect will be done in this relationship” and the other party was in agreement. I made the “right” choice and asked, and He took that person out of my life; and the ‘blessing’? I died. A veritable ‘wilderness’ experience 'where no man is’.

Hope this makes sense.
Blessings.

That makes perfect sense. When we want His will, when He gives us faith, we ask, we receive. And mortification to the flesh is the result.

Much love!

Pursue that which is right in all things, and you are pursuing righteousness in all things.

Knowing that God does all things well.

For it is only the husk that needs to die, that the plant might break forth and grow into a awesome Oak tree in the garden of God.

I am sick at the moment and very tired.
I like this thread and the posts between the posters.

I used to believe that Good- Acceptable - and perfect were three progressive levels of our walk with God. Not sure that I still do or not.

I quoted the snippet above ...because I don't really believe it.
If I wasn't so sick I would hunt out verses.
I find that in spite of us, Father always blesses. < "it is the goodness of God which leads to repentance.." >
"He does not reward us according to our works" OT somewhere...

Anyway, when I am not as 'well pleasing' as I should be..He overwhelms me with love and blessing , which is what breaks me ...
.. 2 Tim
13 "If we believe not,( obey not) yet He abideth faithful: He cannot deny Himself."

My two cents . :)

I thank you for such kind words about the thread and the exchanges between posters. I do wish you good health and hope you get well soon. If you would continue your kindness and allow me to speak a little boldly;

You don’t believe God withholds blessings when we are disobedient.... That’s fine, but I think it’s just a terminology problem.

But either way, you have your personal relationship with Christ that you are feeding and it is growing, so in that I wish you all the good things in Christ.

Blessings,

Much love in Christ, Not me

Hi ByGrace,

Sorry you're not feeling well! Father, please give Helen your quick healing and strength, in Jesus Name!

Good and acceptible and perfect to me describe three aspects of the same thing, Good, Acceptible or agreeable, and perfect, or mature. It's good, we like it, and its a result of growth.

If I wasn't so sick I would hunt out verses.

There's one I love . . . Oh how happy is the man whose sins are forgiven, to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

Happy indeed! :)

Anyway, when I am not as 'well pleasing' as I should be..

We see ourselves our way, do we not? We see our flesh as ourselves, and own the old man's works. But God does not see us that way.

If our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart. God knows the truth!

Our iniquities testify against us. We listen to their witness. Judge with righteous judgment. He has made us righteous and holy, accepted in Christ.

All that remains is to guide our steps into His Way, which will demonstrate how good, and agreeable, and complete His Way is.

Much love!
