Hi all,

I'd like to discuss what are truly the good along with bad things about being Christian that that applies to ALL believers! I just want clarity in terms of everything like good health, protection, etc.

The ones I see are:

Salvation, if you are a true Christian and not a false one, you will have salvation, eternal life in Heaven. Which goes along with answered prayer, do you think God will always respond to your prayer and that you will always hear God speak to you?

Blessings, God will bless you in all your needs and also it seems He will also bless you in things that you want which makes the Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart, scripture, true. Meaning He will bless you all throughout the time you are called to do something, so 1) for those who have to face danger in travelling to other countries like imprisonment/jail or even death for proclaiming Christianity, God will bless you during the whole thing, and I can see Him blessing even things that you want, and you will be blessed eternal life salvation in Heaven. 2) for those other people who do other things that aren't as dangerous, God will provide all your needs and even wants in your life like finances, a home, good relationships, etc. I also think that if you're obedient to God through the Holy Spirit, that He will bless you here and now on the earth, not only when we get to Heaven?

How about good health? Some say that God doesn't always guarantee good health, is that scriptural? Or do you believe that when you're not in good health, God is trying to tell you something and He will always try to help you?

How about protection? Some say that you're not always protected even if you're a Christian? Or do you believe that God always protects His children with the exception that He might allow trouble to ''discipline'' you, but that doesn't mean eventually He doesn't come in the end or mean to protect you.

How about suffering? I believe the correct answer is, you will endure hardship of many kinds but be longsuffering bearing it and each other's burdens and persevering in the faith? you will endure hardship for His name's sake but God will be pleased and your reward with be in Heaven?

How about peace and joy? I believe you will always have this peace and joy even in the midst of trouble believing that "all things work together for good of those who love Him" scripture.
Biblical answers please and thank you!

Just knowing God is there.

We're not guaranteed good health, we're not guaranteed blessings, we're told to expect persecution, not protection, sometimes it gets lonely, and our prayers won't always be answered the way we want them. But we know God is there, and we know Jesus has been there too.

hmm... what about the scripture that says that God's grace abounds to us so that we may do every good work? Doesn't that mean that He will make sure we have good enough health so that we can carry out every good work?

Also, I feel that God speaks to us as to how we can help our health to be good. I'm not sure if it's always though. There can be exceptions. Some exceptions might be incurable diseases that are maybe generational curses or no curse but just like the man God used so that people will glorify God?

And how about that scripture that tells us when we lie down and go in and out, we do not have to fear if we have the Lord? Doesn't that mean that He does give us protection when we walk in His ways? I am not talking about allowing trouble through discipline. There should be no confusion on that.

And how about Deuteronomy 28? God tells us obedience brings blessings, doesn't it? Should we ignore that? Also, how about the scripture, But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things shall be given unto you as well (blessings?)

I would appreciate discussion altogether on this thread topic of mine. Biblical discussion backed up by scripture and even personal life experience. Thanks.

That would be a good topic for another thread. Would you like to start one, and let this one focus on the good things about being a Christian?

Does the Holy Spirit guarantee peace and joy in the life of a believer? (fruit of Spirit?)

Suffering, we will suffer for His name's sake and because it's a fallen world but even in the midst of it, I believe we will feel peace and joy with God, but what kind of peace and joy? I think peace and joy that everything in the end will be okay and that we are in right standing with God helping and being obedient to Him everyday in this life and there's going to be good outcomes.

So protection, my thoughts are, we will have a general protection like the scripture says, when we lie down, go in and out, when we walk with the Lord BUT we are not protected if we have to die for His name's sake or die for our neighbor.
