Doctor's office called to tell me that my heart is in good shape and the pace maker is working well. (I got a new pace maker just before the Covid shutdown)

Then followed that with "We are sending a letter to your Urologist with our approval for your kidney surgery."

Sometimes, you just can't win .....

I'm too mean to be called home yet ....

I explain my heart problem like this.

I officiated football for 25 years. Suddenly I developed a situation where the running back would go 80 yards for a TD. I would run 75 yards and take a nap at the five yard line. Medication worked for a year, then we applied the Pace Maker to keep me out of ambulance rides and 10 PM phone calls to my cardiologist from the emergency room.

Thanks for the wishes ....

Not easy when the vital components start breaking down.....sometimes the spare parts division comes to the rescue.....how do you view the American medical system? Sounds like you are intimately acquainted.....:ummm:

I was a military brat for 18 years ....

I thank God every day that I am not on socialised medicine.

We hear horror stories about the VA in America. My wife is a retired RN. She worked the VA for 20 days in the operating theater, then demanded she be let out ....She still says that what they put our Vets through should be a crime.

I had five Manufacturers Representatives in Canada. Everyone of them had American Health Insurance policies. Thirty minutes across the border to get better care without long waiting lines.

I have to say ...MyGrandmother suffered an aneurthym in her brain. The best Doctors in Birmingham could not operate. They suggested one known Neuologist in North America. He looked at the case and approved the proceedure. He made a spot for her. She was flown with my Mom and her Dad to some remote region in Canada where this surgeon worked from. The hospital was the major employer in the town or village. No hotels ....they stayed with a family while the surgery took place. When the operation was completed ....the Doctor walked out of surgery, went past her family and disappeared. His assistant, learning to be a better brain surgeon sat down with Mom and GrandDad and explained ..."If he ever sits down with the family, you know it's no chance for the relative. He doesn't fair well with the family, so it's best that I fill you in with the success of this proceedure ..." Grandmom outlived my Grandfather and almost my Mom ...

To me, that is proof positive that Great Doctors can be found ....what you need is God, luck and the skills given to the surgeon ....

Can you bank your own blood ahead of time?
Don't know if you will need any transfusions, but I think it is a much bigger risk today to receive someone else's blood, especially due to the covid vaccine.
