Has anyone noticed this item on yahoo yesterday, about a new search engine being launched by Facebook?

Facebook has gone from bad to worse in my opinion ..... they keep changing everything and all it amounts to is more pop and snazzle for the people who walk around all day like zombies staring into an electronic device in their hands

For the last several years if you do not log out of facebook it follows you everywhere you go on the web and keeps a record of your interests.

Same as google .... if you have an account or email with them .... they continually gather information on the places you visit unless you first log out of your account.

You can test it yourself ..... a lady doing a search for a new bra ..... the bra ads will keep popping up for days on the family computer .... if a man is searching for a new boat .... the boat ads will be all over the place for days and weeks after ...... if you email your accountant about retirement plans ..... all kinds of banking and investment ads will be showered all around you

I think we are heading toward a computerized beast at breakneck speed.

And who controls it ???????????? ..... it will be the big players like Google and Facebook .....

And they have financial interests as the motive ..... not our privacy or well-being.

The internet was excellent when it was mainly in the hands of everyday people .

Don't be a zombie being led by an electronic device in your hands.

Who the puk cares what Lady Gaga is wearing today .... or how much Justin Bieber cursed Clinton or where he left his pet monkey last night .... or how many Hollywood celebrities went to rehab last week..

Complete waste of time ..... unless you are a zombie of course :) :) :)

Of course I read the article

Do you know you can try to delete all your Facebook content and close your account and all the information will still be there if Facebook wanted to bring it back up ... ?

Do you know that in Utah they have a massive cooker of a computer that is recording practically everything everybody does on the internet ??

We are just getting started.

Yep. I knew about all that. Same with google and yahoo. They keep everything indefinitely, even if you delete your accounts.

Even if you or I delete everything on our home computers the information can still be recovered ..... this has been done many times by police and the information can be used in court .... often it is child porn dealers or other serious criminals who are caught this way (and that is good) .... but the point is stuff can be recovered

The police use forensic computer experts who "peel back" all the layers of information until they "uncover" the "deleted" information.
