case RANT:{Okay so, I would say that the translators of the Bible were all but perfect in their efforts. They did a very good job for the most part, but I think its important to find the origins of a word when we are confused.AKALeviticus 11:20 "All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you."Now this doesn't make much sense does it? Birds creeping on all fours?I recently read in the "Is Hell Eternal" thread a poster saying that they would trust the translators, and I would say thats blind ignorance. Although yes, they did an amazing job, it's verses like these that show me the importance of the origins of the words and the fact that we must not blindly rely on someones interpretation of the greek and hebrew words as our only source of knowledge on the subject.the word "fowl" (`owph H5775) actually can also mean any flying creature or winged insect. Then we have the phrase "that creep" (sherets H8318) which means teeming or swarming things (insects, animals, small reptiles, quadrupeds). I think it's obvious that this verse is NOT talking about birds.}break; // end RANT
