I went to my knees for the first time two weeks ago. Since then, praying, reading the Bible and studying in attempt to learn the word; so to follow in the steps of our savior. At this juncture I am reaching out for a small Bible group in my area (Seattle, WA.) and establishing contacts with the intent of finding a helper/teacher.

I appreciate what I've encountered on this site, however, do not foresee posting to any great extent as I am very prepared to shut-up and listen. That being written, this sprig, or bud break, as it were, must admit the truth as I enjoy it to watch myself type. So at the chance of humble service to the Christian community, I'll post my story in the "Born Again" thread soon.

Thank God, and thank you all for being here,

bb

Welcome bud_break!

I'm glad you found Jesus. Continue to seek him and get him to teach you. In my experience the more someone thinks they know the less they actually know.

Good to meet you and awesome to see a new family member in Christ, welcome to the hardest and most hope inspired part of your life. Welcome to life eternal in Christ our Lord.

My advice would be to question everything you read here as there are many varying doctrines and also many heresy's to watch out for, personally I wouldn't indoctrinate anything on this forum with out testing it first by the Word of God and wise council, its good you are hooking up with fellowship in your area if you have any questions I suggest you talk to a senior leader at your Church or group.

God Bless :)

Thank you for the welcome. I appreciate the advice you all have shared and will take each ones considerations to heart.

Old bud break currently prays learning to fine tune methods of daily practice.

As I have mentioned a reaching out, this has only been accomplished in the action of subscription to this forum. I have no church, Bible group or human wise council. There is a careful eye on heresy, and, up to now lean in the direction of meeting together with groups of two or three in His name. No doubt my wishes will be given when He is ready ready.

For now I read a 1968 Jerusalem Bible, and on-line, use the NASB on the Bible Gateway site, enjoy various theological commentaries, and look up a lot of new words in the dictionary. Biblical maps, articles etc. I check out a few youtube videos too.
Oh yeah, and prayer. My sister has been witness to a great deal of this. lol! Perhaps she will be my first fruit.

I often second guess after hitting the 'send button' but it is what it is. Posted my story here

Being a Christian is only the beginning when you confess to Him and accept Him as Savior and Lord and repent of sins. As you grow in Him. Praying and reading the Bible. And going to church.
