Looks like Jesus is going to have to get a haircut.Martin W.
exactly my thought.
those Europeans really screwed that up. but again, long hair has been praised and accepted in the bible as well
numbers 6:5 speaks of the nazarites taking a vow not too cut their hair All the days of the vow of his separation there shall no razor come upon his head: until the days be fulfilled, in the which he separateth himself unto the LORD, he shall be holy, and shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow.( numbers 6:5)J
udges 16:17 specifically states that Samson never had a razor touch his head. That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother's womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.( Judges 16:17)t
he prophet Elijah was recognized because of his long hairAnd they answered him, He was an hairy man, and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins. And he said, It is Elijah the Tishbite.( 2 kings 1:8)
In 2 samuel 14: 25-26 Absolom is praised for his long hair 25But in all Israel there was none to be so much praised as Absalom for his beauty: from the sole of his foot even to the crown of his head there was no blemish in him. 26And when he polled his head, (for it was at every year's end that he polled it: because the hair was heavy on him, therefore he polled it:) he weighed the hair of his head at two hundred shekels after the king's weight. ( 2 samuel 14: 25-26)
and 2 samuel 10:4-5 speaks of Davids soldiers being ashamed for being clean shavened. 4Wherefore Hanun took David's servants, and shaved off the one half of their beards, and cut off their garments in the middle, even to their buttocks, and sent them away. 5When they told it unto David, he sent to meet them, because the men were greatly ashamed: and the king said, Tarry at Jericho until your beards be grown, and then return. ( 2 samuel 10: 4-5)so the real question is not should a man have long hair but how is that person spreading Christ in his own life. in my view the hair doesn't matter.your brother in christRyan Fitz
