I am sure we have all met other Christians that as bbyrd009 says "Get a free ride" and then give no thought to the " pick up your cross" side.

I am sure that looks like some are getting a "free ride" so to speak...

Just as we hear and see someone like a Billy Graham and say what a crusader....we hear and see others we don't think are showing much as an example......and here I would hang a BUT....BUT...BUT....

We are not in their quiet place with God...they may not tell and talk about the times they give to the down and out, go visit the prisons, help their neighbors, etc.

We are in a catch 22.... Be seen ... but then when you are seen....people want to praise you....and you are suppose to be doing without being praised and storing up your secret works (treasures) in heaven...

I taught my kids to do for others, and take nothing in return. I gave them ideas and suggestions that they might learn what I meant....but yet I don't tell them When I do for others, and taught them that was between them and God.

But then again...I am sure that is the "love test" ...how much do we really love? Are we walking the walk to just 'stay out of jail' or are we following close to the Master because we love Him..and have no life outside of Him.

I would not rule that out, but I believe it is much less than what we might think by our eyes observation. We are all not equipped to serve God in the same ways. I think it is more up to Him than us.
