Are you living in the after life? Life after death that is... for Jesus said that all who are without the Spirit's leading are dead but those who have received him who is called the Word of life and the Spirit of God which is the Spirit of life are walking in the newness of, life.
They have been risen from the dead no longer are they thrown into hell tormented day and night in their daily existence but they are the blessed of God who no longer live under the curse of the dead for they are alive and Jesus said those who believe upon me and keep my commandments shall never hunger, never thirst and never suffer the torments of hell that come from being spiritually dead and they shall never die! For the Word of God when applied to our daily walk raises us up in standards and that is what raises us from the dead or lower life which is no life at all, for it is filled with misery, heat and torment because when we walk outside of God's Word(Jesus) then we walk contrary to God's will for us, for His will is for us to KNOW His Son... His Living Word.
He is not the God of the dead... but of the LIVING.

John 11:24-26
24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
KJV
John 6:35
35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
KJV
Matt 22:32
32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
KJV

I don't know what you believe the word NEVER to mean... but I take it as meaning FROM THIS DAY FORWARD FOR EVER AND EVER!
