This is not entirely true. Abraham's son wasn't sacrifice as commanded,

The first mention of Love in the Bible, "Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest . . ."

The true meaning of love!

When I say that God will never be different from His Word, I mean more like this, that what He shows of Himself in the Bible, and how we find Him in our hearts, it will always be the same.

A God in our hearts that is different from the God of the Bible is our mistake. So I agree, fill your mind constantly with the Bible, learn to think the way the Bible speaks, and when you hear God, you will recognize Him, from having been hearing already.

Much love!

I agree that's the best way to get to know God for beginners.

This is not entirely true. Abraham's son wasn't sacrifice as commanded, the Israelite's that fled Egypt weren't destroyed as God told Moses, and I'm sure there's more. But the bible is a small history and non exclusive of Gods word.
IDK if you ever heard this or not, but the Abraham/ Isaac story was a test of his faith and it was actually a precursor to what God would do. See, he REALLY provided the sacrifice.

On the same mountain where Abraham was led to sacrifice his son (who was likely actually in his 20s or so, not a child) it was the same mountain where God gave his own son, where Jesus was crucified.

Hebrews 6:18 says it is not just unlikely, but IMPOSSIBLE for God to lie. There were tests of faith and circumstances and there were circumstantial promises that contained an "if" and required obedience, but He does not lie and He uses all things for His good.

He repents of killing at times.

Btw,.. I think that we all have had evil thoughts before as I'm listening to the guy speak again. For it's like Sirius Black told Harry. The world isn't split into good people and bad people is we each have a bit of light and darkness inside of us. It all just matters on what we choose to act on. Oh and @Grailhunter, thank you for understanding about my story. :)

You mean God repents? God has relented in his anger and he has had remorse for the people who he had to discipline, but his grief was on the people (I'll have to look this up but it is in Isaiah) but he does not need to repent because he is all knowing. The only instance I can think of is that he was sorry for flooding the earth, but he did not repent.

Gee!

I've never found the end of depth in the Scriptures. It surprises me to hear someone say that.

I think it's a great way to make sure you know God for experts. My love for the Bible, I don't see ever stepping away from it.

Much love!

But I cannot imagine a lot of evil running around in that little head of yours.

It was a Type.

In Abraham's mind, Isaac was as good as dead 3 days journey. Life was provided by a substitution. The certainty of death was real. It was an offering of Love, made possible by Abraham's willingness to believe, which was in response to God's promise, "In Isaac shall your seed be called".

Like you've noted, Isaac was grown by this time, so, he was willing to obey his father, willing to offer himself.

So we can know our Father, Who gave His Son.

Much love!

It depends on which bible you go by, I read the KJV, so I'll just quote the Moses story there:

Exodus 32:14

King James Version

14 And the Lord repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.

We barely know God, he is all knowing and all wise and we are to be as little children. Not trying to be annoying, just honest. But the bible holds some truths, but there are many truths on this earth now, which is part of the mysteries of God being made known.

God is never the Author of confusion dear one
Take a step back and make SURE this is God, for the enemy would love nothing more than to throw you off your game by sliding one in sideways

It is my experience that God does not do these things unless there is an exact purpose. So if this is God you need to find out what the purpose is, and be careful about becoming complacent when doing your due diligence over such a gift
