Having some disappointments in my faith in Jesus and want to discuss it with other believers!

Well, recently I still do believe in God, a God of love because whenever I feel love and need love and relationships and interaction, I feel I must be made this way because God was that way first, but recently I've been questioning my faith in Jesus as Lord because I have this depth of love for animals to never have to be killed and I think animals have feelings, care for their little ones and it's blood-shed and evil, and the God of Christianity doesn't have that depth of love but I believe that this depth of love I have is because of God who had this depth of love first. So it's probably a God in general and the Holy Bible was made up? Though I do find the bible has lots of good ideas about God.

Is it that you feel you have a greater love for our furry friends than does the God of the Bible, therefore you wonder whether the Bible actually shows us the true God?

I’m glad you were honest about what you’re struggling with in your faith. The God of the Bible is big enough to hear our questions and concerns, and I want to assure you that He hears yours. But I also want to invite you to examine Scripture again, with fresh eyes, to see what the Bible really teaches about who God is, what His creation, including animals, was designed to look like, and where the reality of suffering fits into that picture.

“The LORD is good to all, and His mercy is over all that He has made” (Psalm 145:9). God does care for the creatures He created. In fact, Jesus says, “Not one sparrow falls to the ground apart from your Father” (Matthew 10:29). The love and care you have for animals isn’t proof that the Bible was made up, it’s a reflection of the God of the Bible at work in your heart, because you were made in His image (Genesis 1:27).

But the fact that blood must be shed, even among animals, reveals a larger and more hopeful truth that runs throughout Scripture. After sin entered the world through Adam, death also came (Romans 5:12). God never designed creation to be marred by suffering and death; sin corrupted His good creation. But even from the beginning, God required the death of an innocent animal to provide clothing for Adam and Eve after their fall (Genesis 3:21). He was revealing that sin has a cost, and that forgiveness must have a substitute. That substitute would come in the person of Jesus Christ, “the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29). Jesus’ blood was shed not because God took pleasure in cruelty and violence, but because He took pleasure in love. Only love is powerful enough to end death.

The Bible teaches that one day, God will make all things new: “The creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption” (Romans 8:21). In that day, there will be no more killing, no more pain, no more death, only peace. If you long for a world where life is never taken, where creatures never experience the cruelty you see around you, then your heart isn’t raised against Christ, it’s a sign that your heart is breaking for the world He promised to redeem. Don’t let your disappointment in the world blind you to the truth, Jesus is not at odds with your compassion; He’s the reason you have it at all.

Yes, that’s right. The Bible says there will be no more death of any kind in the new heaven and new earth. This includes animal death as well. Revelation 21: 4: “There shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain.” Death entered the world because of sin (Romans 5:12), and when sin is completely eradicated, death will be no more.

Before sin entered the world, in the Garden of Eden, it’s clear that man and the animals were vegetarian. Genesis 1: 29–30: “And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed… and to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air… every green herb for meat.” There was no animal killing for food in God’s original creation. In fact, it’s only after the Flood that God specifically authorized the eating of meat by man (Genesis 9: 3) because death had already been introduced into the world because of sin.

When God restores creation to its original state of perfection, the curse of death will be lifted. Isaiah 11: 6–9 paints a prophetic picture of that future kingdom: “The wolf shall dwell with the lamb… the lion shall eat straw like the ox… They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain.”

In other words, heaven and the new earth will be free from violence, bloodshed, and killing; everything will be in perfect harmony under the reign of Christ. The curse of sin that caused killing in the first place will be completely gone.

Never doubt God, he the most benevolent, perfect being ever. God’s love reaches every part of His creation. He made the heavens, the earth, and every living creature with wisdom and care. The Psalm says, “O Lord, how manifold are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all. The earth is full of Your possessions… These all wait for You, that You may give them their food in due season… You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; and You renew the face of the earth” (Psalm 104:24–30). God not only gives life but also promises to renew it.

His care is not only for people but for all living things. “Your righteousness is like the great mountains; Your judgments are a great deep; O Lord, You preserve man and beast” (Psalm 36:6). This means that God’s protection and love cover both humans and animals. He holds every life in His hand, for as Job said, “In His hand is the life of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind” (Job 12:10).

Jesus also spoke about this same truth when He said, “Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God” (Luke 12:6), and again, “Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will” (Matthew 10:29). Even the smallest bird is remembered by God, showing that nothing He has made is forgotten or without value.

God’s plan of peace includes all creatures. Through the prophet Hosea, He said, “In that day I will make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, with the birds of the air, and with the creeping things of the ground. Bow and sword of battle I will shatter from the earth, to make them lie down safely” (Hosea 2:18). This shows that in His Kingdom, both humans and animals will live in safety and peace.

The prophets also saw a time coming when all creation will be renewed and free from death and harm. Isaiah wrote, “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them… They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea” (Isaiah 11:6–9). And again, “The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, the lion shall eat straw like the ox… They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, says the Lord” (Isaiah 65:25).

In God’s Kingdom, the curse of death will end, and the harmony between people, animals, and creation will be restored. Nothing that God has made will be forgotten. All life that He created in love will be renewed by His Spirit, living in peace under His eternal care.
